One more for Creme Brûlée. It remains the only beer I've ever drain poured that there wasn't something seriously wrong with - and a lot of times I'll choke those down.

Yep, it's just too sweet. I was going to buy a single but a store employee was telling me how good it is so I bought a six pack. Definite mistake!

The only sweet beer that I genuinely dislike no matter what is the entire style milk stout or sweet stout. Just really sweet. I actually liked creme brulee and there are a couple other exceptions to my aversion to sweet stout like xocoveza. And I like pumking as well . I am quite fond of the original samichlaus and the helles is also exemplary.

Reading this post makes me wonder if it would be better business if brewers that make really big ABV "desert" style beers sell them in small <12oz bottle formats but at a higher price per oz level. Say a 8-10oz bottle of Crème Brulee etc for $7. I think more people might go for that. Very similar to how the wine industry sells port/desert wine in smaller bottles (but usually cost is relatively high per oz). Not sure, just an idea.

Had a bananas foster at Kuenhenns as part of the Summer Solstice event. It was delicious but I struggled to get the last few oz down of the eight oz pour due to the sweetness.

Not Your Fathers Root Beer was the same way....can only drink a little of that....way too sweet.

Molotov Cocktail Single Simcoe Hop Edition by Evil Twin.

I don't like sweet/sweets anyway so this was pretty difficult to drink down, especially at 13% abv.

I drank five shaker pints of Creme Brulee stout one night . So yea. I agree with @Shroud0fdoom you get me an IPA that is sweet though it turns me off a little was not a fan of Apocalypse Cow

Edit: The beer is also a lot easier to drink cold instead of at room temperature

Chocolate Rain is the sweetest if the BT series and tough to drink. I can drink a full pour of creme Brulee but after that its a bit much. Agree on PumpKYn though, that was horrible

Makes you wonder about beer reviews here that are written after a 3oz serving, regardless of beer style. Your hypothetical review of a 3oz serving would be vastly different from a 12oz serving.

I'd have to say Imperial Biscotti Break. Not my "cup of tea" .....pun intended.

Haven't had a beer that is too sweet for me yet. In regards with Creme Brulee, I actually found the vanilla too strong. It overwhelmed my palate after a while, and negated the sweetness.

That goes without saying. And if I was into numbers and rankings and all that I'd wonder about it even more .

As soon as I read OP's title, ST's Creme Brulee immediately came to mind. As I read a few posts, I saw I was definitely not alove. Tried to share the bottle with my wife, it was too much sweetness for 2 people to have multiple pours.

However, speaking of over the top sweet that I loved...Lawson's Maple Triple. Dear Lord, pancakes anyone?!?

Exactly. I'm a firm believer, but I think it's something that some never consider. This isn't just about beers with big flavors. Try judging a Helles in 3 oz. I know I'm preaching to the choir. Despite this, beers are awarded medals in this context, and fans are gonna review beers at festivals. In the case of the latter, I think the 30 samples of other beers the drinker tried in those 3 hrs must somehow even the playing field and allow the drinker to get the perfect experience in a sip.

That's stuff is delicious, but I don't even think of it was a beer. In my mind I categorize it with Mike's Hard and the like, its so far removed from beer on the palate that if I try to think of it that way it ends up being off-putting.

Same for me, and I had the same reaction to Choklat.

I had similar expectations for Choklat Oranj but was, thankfully, pleasantly surprised at the restraint they showed in terms of sweetness.
