Kegging a Belgian Wit this morning. I often brew on the 4th, but not this year. I'd like for the weather to cool off just a bit before lighting the burners. Maybe next weekend. Cheers!

Brewing a Summit, Citra, Centennial beer tomorrow. That's right, I said Summit. How else are you gonna get bright tangerine from hops?

No, sir. Summit always makes tangerine regardless of the source. Summit can also make garlic and onion IF you dump a bunch at flame out or dry hop with it. It's a tangerine flavor hop that shines with early or mid boil additions.

Lukas's: very nice, almost the exact same recipe I have planned for later this month. I have a soft spot for 3711 as it supposedly comes from a place near where my wife's mom lived before the war. Every time I use it I think about that grand french lady.

I had to mow a patch of wild onion in a corner of my yard today, so much tangerine 'sploded forth.

Game changer. Apparently forgot to check "don't crush" on some grains for an IPA, so figure I might as well brew with the grains that are already crushed. IPA with Nelson, Motueka, Wakatu.

My uncle and I brewed a Kentucky Common yesterday. Excited to try this historical brew in the coming weeks.

Brewing an Dortmunder style/export lager on tuesday. Or at least that's what I think it will be closest to being. Mostly pils with some munich and a dash of carahell. Mt. Hood, German Tradition, and Hallertau hops. Wyeast Munich Lager. I don't brew many lagers because of the long turnaround, so I hope it turns out.

Fun time yesterday. Brewed one of the new BJCP styles; Pale Czech Lager. One of my longest brew days since I did a double decoction.

Better you than me. I have zero interest in decoction mashing. Sign me up for .25# of melanoidin malt instead :-)

Try using this methodology. I've read (reddit) good results using his method to quick turn around lagers. http://brulosophy.com/methods/lager-method/

Hah, first time decocting and I've been brewing for 10 years. Whether I do it again, I'll wait to see how the beer turns out.

Hoping to squeeze in a batch this week… either a NS hopped rye saison or some sort of Belgian porter. Depending how my schedule shapes up and whether or not I have time for a starter.

Not brewing, but still working on/feeding/babysitting my second batch of None More Black.

It should surpass 30% abv in the next 24 hours. Then I'll let the yeast work to exhaustion and hope the FG doesn't go to low...otherwise I'll just add some malto to get some mouthfeel back.
