(San Diego,CA) – We are proud to release the next addition to our 20th Anniversary Specialty Series, the world-renowned Barrel-aged Speedway Stout. In case you’ve never heard of it, BA Speedway is AleSmith’s most sought after beer and has been referred to as one of the best beers in the world by Rolling Stone Magazine.

We’ve matured our Russian Imperial Stout in premium bourbon barrels to create the perfect blend of flavors. Notes of oak, vanilla, and bourbon add another level of complexity to this beer’s already massive flavor profile of chocolate, Ryan Bros. coffee, and roasted barley. Designed to be enjoyed now or aged in the bottle for years to come, this special release is a truly unique beer that is as smooth as it is rare.

I wouldn't say it's their most sought after beer. BA Kopi Luwak is and they need to brew that again. Never got to try it but BA vietnamese speedway was the probably best coffee BA beer I've ever had.

If anybody wants to do a trade for one of these, I'm in Boston and can hook you up with that Trillium gold. Just send me a message. Thanks. Never had it sounds good!

Considering this thread may just be a FT:ISO in a very short period I will just say that this sounds amazing. But alas I will probably never get to try it. I love the original and can only imagine throwing it in a barrel will only improve It.

hmmm...$29.97 plus airfare and hotel sounds pretty steep no matter how good the beer is...although if i buy one i sort of have to take a trip to san diego in the next 2 months so there is that...

I cannot believe their press release uses Rolling Stone as a reference.

I loved the story a few years back about homeless people being used as mules at the BA Speedway Stout release.

Have you seen Trillium in stores? It seems to be only available at the brewery.

We get plenty of AleSmith stuff out here, but I've never seen any of their barrel-aged products. I really hope to get my hands on this.

Are their BA releases ever distro'd or are they always brewery only?

Wisconsin in the past has gotten limited releases of BA Speedway and BA Old Numbskull but at 40 dollars plus out the door I passed.

It occasionally gets shipped to a few stores but sells out within an hour at most. I live right near the brewery and make weekly trips there.

Hopefully this will be ok to post here. If anybody is willing to be a proxy, please let me know. I'd be cool paying for shipping and buying one of the 4 bottles for you for your troubles.
