Can a fellow BA from Texas who is going to be in town during the beginning of this release get in on this Proxy thing? Or would it cause some sort of turf war? Anyway, I am looking forward to my first visit to Alesmith and other California breweries. Maybe an IP trade or two, as well.

 

Phew, glad there are others to proxy...I am already out of shippers and got hit up by another 2 this morning.

As for the mafia thing, I don't think san diego has one.....yet.

 

I'm going to be in LA the week after the release, doubtful I'll have the time/energy to make a trip to San Diego... Happy to bring some chicago goodies as a thank you if anyone close by is open to grabbing bottles for me.

 

Does anyone know if there is a limit on how many people one person can proxy for? I see some people are doing it for possibly themselves along with others.

 

To my knowledge, no. As long as your name is on there, you're good to proxy for as many people as posisble. It really just depends on how big your car can hold and how insane you want that fedex trip to be.

 

Last time I did this was for 5 not including myself. I had to stop there because I only have a small 3 series and couldn't fit more boxes/bottles without an additional trip.

Good question, I think Beer Geek speedway had a lot of hype around it outside of CA (hehe), but this is the first BA speedway that allowed proxies.

Had others known how good dba olde ale was I bet that would not have lasted as long as it did. I was one of those that only picked up a single bottle of that....huge mistake.

 

It's also the first release this year that doesn't have everyone complaining about the price haha.

But between me and the better half we have 2.

 

I think there are more bottles of it this time around, but even so, yeah. Not sure about it being a total disaster, because you have to name your proxy (which isn't so easy for those out of state w/o regular SD trading partners that would do that), but it sure doesn't help.

 

I just remember how fast BAVSS went. Oh well, we'll see how it goes.

 

Perhaps next week we can inform you how good it tastes.
