Tried it last night for the first time. Tasted great to me! It actually tasted shockingly similar to my home-brew gose which was great to find out.

Had the exact same reaction. Granted I haven't tried a ton of different goses so my frame of reference is rather small(Westbrook's gose is pretty much my gold standard), but Jammer seemed kinda lacking in comparison and you're dead on about the coriander. However it was far from being terrible and did the job for killing a few cans while hanging at the beach over the weekend. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy again, especially if better options are available, but I wouldn't snub my nose at one either.

“Westbrook's gose is pretty much my gold standard”. Westbrook Gose is on the extreme edge for a Gose since it is a very sour interpretation of the Gose style. Since the majority of BAs seem to be inclined to prefer extreme beers it might be appropriate for Westbrook Gose to be a BA gold standard?

For the broader craft beer drinking community a beer other than Westbrook Gose would be a ‘better’ choice as a gold standard for the Gose style.

    Cheers!

To clarify, using the phrase 'gold standard' maybe wasn't the best choice of words on my part- what I was referring to is that Westbrook's has simply been my personal favorite Gose that I've tried to this point. And since I'm someone who doesn't completely concern myself with how closely a beer fits the "definition" of a style, instead choosing to base my opinion off of how much I simply enjoy the taste, I'm probably not the best person for determining which interpretation should be considered the 'gold standard'.

For what it's worth- I gave my Mom (a regular Coors Light-only drinker) a Jammer and she actually liked it (and even finished it!). Not sure she would have liked Westbrook's as much. So maybe you're on to something there.

I gave my wife a sip of my Jammer and I thought she was going to spit it out right into my face. For minutes thereafter she was still 'suffering' with loud expletives of "BLAH" and remarks of "how can you drink that s@#$!?!".

I will never in a million years offer her a Westbrook Gose, unless she really pisses me off!?!

    Cheers!

living in cali, sixpoint isnt even a thought on my mind usually cause we dont ever see it, but i had heard about this jammer gose. Had no idea in the differences in batches but I picked one yesterday in sterling va while visiting family, and decided to come check out the thread before cracking it.

it was really fun reading this thread and seeing the progress this beer has had and how much feedback sixpoint took and actually made a difference in their beer based on it.

looking at the bottom of the can, looks like i have batch 2. wish i could have tried batch 1. would have been intriguing to do side by side. will crack the can tonight and report back on my findings!

    @Sixpoint
This post says basically all I wanted to., including "thanks Shane!".

These don't feel just like tweaks but like an overhaul (I updated my review accordingly). I wasn't a fan of it before, I am now. This is a great brew, especially for the summer.

I would like to add that I can't think of another brewery, especially one with your reach, that takes to heart the comments of beer drinkers and puts them to action. I had the first Jammer 6 weeks ago and already you've released and delivered an updated version that blows the first out of the water. Well done - keep doing what you do.

Since our inception, all of our beers start out as homebrews (pilot beers) before they are scaled up to full production. So we have that in common with you as well. :-)

@BMitch We brew to taste, and not to style, at Sixpoint. We don't aim to make our beers "challenging" but rather we aim to make them delicious. In a double blind tasting, without brand awareness or fanboy distortion, Jammer 2.0 has prevailed. A new evolution will emerge in this style, as there are digestive limits as to how much acidity a person can imbibe, without completely rotting away the enamel of their teeth, and upsetting the pH of their stomachs. Brew to taste! :-) Thanks for giving it a whirl.

we look forward to your feedback as well.

imagine what 3.0 will taste like! :-)

Ive been checking my three local stores for 2.0. One never got it as far as I know, the other one may have, and the third one apparently sold out pretty quickly. Anyone know of any sightings in north/central Jersey (Somerset, Union county or surrounding areas)? Will any stores that sold out be getting any more shipments any time soon, or am I shit out of luck? Don't leave your faithful neighbors hangin', @Sixpoint !

I talked to the guy at my local shop about it and he said the distributor still has 1.0 but should have 2.0 soon.

Ok, I've had 3 "versions" of Jammer now... a single I picked up at CBC Braintree in early June, a sixer I got that had been on the shelves for a while, and the "new" release that I grabbed at my local bottle shop this afternoon. Definitely a big, big difference between the earlier and more recent releases - much more tart, much stronger flavors of the salt and coriander, and in general a much, much better beer.

The single I grabbed last month I thought was amazing, so it was probably the re-done version. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when I found the shelf-aged sixer and drank it... it was a complete letdown.

But now that I've found a new sixer, and it's delicious like my single, I know what to look for - if you're trying a Jammer, make sure it's new (mine says BB18DEC2015 on the bottom, the older ones were, I think, best by sometime in July... @Sixpoint noted this earlier in this thread). World of difference.
