Day 7 courtesy of @jschott75 brings a permawant. Man I love this beer more every time I have it. This one is a 2015, and I have only have had a 2014 before, and always at least a year old. This is a different beast fresh, and definitely in a good way. I was tempted for a minute to throw it in the cellar and build a vertical but I am glad I didn't; I can always get more.

Wife and Father in Law are at the Dave Matthews concert. Little upstart local band, apparently they have something of a following in this forum. So kids are down, and I'll be solo doming this Firestone DBA. Poor, poor me.

Day 7 - Double whammy by @whyteboy003 ! Of course, what else could I expect from him! In any case, I am still shocked by my beers for today:


I never thought I would get to try Marshal Zhukov and it is now in my #pgw! Tastes chocolatey and goes well with the , well, chocolate. Caffe Americano is my second bottle and after reading about it (I got confused with Caffe Cubano for a sec) I am not sure if I am not more excited about this one as I am a coffee addict. Major thanks once again Matt! This is incredible!

 

This may be a dumb question....but is mead carbonated at all?

 

Yeah, I do. 2-month-old just spent 3 hours screaming, during which the boys spent half the time fighting with each other and the other half screaming just to see if they could be louder than their sister.

Fortunately, the beer @vitaminvert sent me for today is so motherfucking delicious that it won't last an hour (which is unfortunate in its own right) and then I can move on to other things. Oh, you guys might like to know what that beer is....

As much as I enjoyed the other two Casey bottles I've had this week (despite their aromas, which I'm still trying to figure out) this one is by far my favorite (I also can't figure out how there can be such a wide margin when I liked the other two so much)



Thank you so much Andrew, among very stiff competition this is my favorite bottle from you so far, pretty much a perfect beer.

 

Caffe Americano is damn delicious. Get excited.

No, if you've never had mead it is definitely worth a shot. I'm new to it, but really enjoying it so far.

 

Buddy of mine sent me one as an afterthought extra in a larger trade, and it ended up being the favorite of the entire box.

 

Sweet! Mine is gone already. Poured a half glass for my wife but she wasn't feeling it, I had to drink the whole thing myself!

Saw the cap, took a sip, knew the beer! I have had a bottle of this in the closet for literally four years and haven't had the opportunity to crack into it (not enough people to share with, ages wel, yada yada yada). This BIF definitely puts the focus on the enjoyment of the drinking of craft beer!

Well, finally trying to get caught up here. I just haven't had a chance to breath lately with work and home life. Also trying to get things taken care of for my family before I fly out of town to Mass. on Monday for a week and then Minnesota the following week. My trifecta of day #5 through #7 are below. 2 out of three are new ticks and BC is in my top (3) of perma stouts with Huna and MC. I see peeps with the MC in this thread and boy is this years tasty!! @shrek806 Damn Kevin, these beers are always in my wheel house!! Thank you!! 2011 Kuhnhenn BA Barley Wine is super yummy. @PA-Michigander Hey Nick, I gotta be honest with you. I contemplated for weeks about whether or not I should send you the ML in your (12) days. I wasn't sure if it was a hidden message or a challenge to see if your sender would actually send one.
