I was at imbibe this weekend. They had a Russian River and pretty nice choices. No 5th tho from Kern. See that anyway in town?

I've never seen any Russian River in Bakersfield and I just told someone in this thread that Bakersfield doesn't get distribution from them. Has that changed? What bottles did they have at Imbibe? Thanks!

Imbibe gets a lot of their beer from down south. RR does not distribute in Kern County.

what? i go in there all the time, except for this last couple weeks, and i have never seen RR. I think the beer guys go to La and pick up stuff. At least i know they do with alesmith stuff. i got to get to Imbibe tomorrow, but got to let you know Lagunitas is coming to Imbibe March 15th. Its 15 bucks. cant wait! they are bringing a variety of bottles and doing tastings.

This is an old thread, but thought I'd chime in and let you know you're not the only one on here living in the land of bud light.
Did you make it the PtE debut night? I unfortunately couldn't make it and now have to wait another three weeks until its on the shelves again.

Yes. We have ONE redeeming quality, and that's readily available access to KRBC. It's our Oz.

Kinda off topic here but is there a best route to head up to kernville? I'm coming from Fresno memorial day and there is a route from porterville that looks to be ~10 miles shorter. Any idea if we should be taking the bakersfield route due to bring better roads or something? Thanks in advance... Can't wait to get up there and taste...

If you're comIng from fresno, I would go down porterville highway and then take the 155 over the Alta Sierra pass into Kernville. Theres not nearly as many people on the road, it's not as windy, and the views are spectacular. The 178 through the canyon is a very windy and narrow road that will jammed packed with weekenders heading up to the lake.
