These are my two favorites as well. Especially the last part, about them being a comfortable, neighborhood atmosphere.

I also love the different size drafts at Redbones and the beer in the brewery-specific glassware at Magoun's. Love the food in both spots as well.

Olde Magoun's recently started listing pour sizes and prices on their beer list. That was my biggest gripe with an otherwise excellent spot.

For southern CT, love Ginger Man Norwalk, excited for when they reopen in the fall. My favorite food place would be Walrus + Carpenter in Bridgeport. Amazing Food, good tap list, but kind of pricey. Also, Eli Cannon's is awesome, and I always hear good things about Birch Hill Tavern in Glastonbury.

I second Walrus + Carpenter for food. You walk out of there feeling so full of meat and beer.

Not wanting to threadjack, but doing it anyway. Why no mention of Seymour the Pub in Greenfield? Not worth it, or has it just flown under the radar?

#3 Quarry Tap Room, a new pub in Hallowell, Maine across from the Liberal Cup. Haven't had their food yet.
#2 Black Birch, certainly if not alone just for their strange tap handles, Great food too. Close to Tributary.
#1 Is still Three Penny Pub in Montpelier, VT. Great food here too. Near Montpelier Co-Op for loading up.
But when I want good beer and great food it's Long Trail Brewery's and their Yaki Wings.

The Resevoir for me. Three penny made a lot of lists, but I didn't think it was all that. Might have caught it on bad day.

Res is my favorite, Armsby is the best, and I'll give an honorable mention to Sunset because it's great and underrated by people here. The food may be better at Publick House and Deep Ellum, but I've had a lot more great times at Sunset and it's (imo) generally more bang for your buck.

YES the dive is the thing I miss most about Worcester (other than Savers and amazing Vietnamese food)

Rip Tide, in Marblehead, MA, is the closest I've thing seen to a midwestern shitkicker bar. Brings back memories. But it's absolutely not a beer place.

My beer favorites, as someone who's only lived here for a year:
    1. Naumkeag Ordinary (Salem, MA)
    2. Lord Hobo (Cambridge, MA)
    3. Threepenny Tap (Montpellier, VT)

I can't believe I haven't seen Novare Res Bier Cafe in Portland, ME. The best tap selection I've ever seen. That had fou foune and iris on tap last month!
