Brewed a Saison yesterday with 2row, flaked wheat, mosaic, and wyeast 3726 farmhouse. It was first saison I've brewed, and the smell coming off my airlock is fantastic. I had the worst stuck sparge, and I believe it was due to the flaked wheat from what I've read on using this grain. I think I want to attempt this again, but use a pilsner malt instead.

Bottled my Cinq Cents clone last night, today I started some yeast. I'l be doing my last all-grain for a while, switching to extracts for the next 2 months to see what happens.

I thought I would finally make my mild, but an unexpected household repair job occupied a chunk of my Saturday, setting back my weekend chores. I didn't get to brewing today, but I anticipate transferring my S. Hemisphere IPA to a keg with some New Zealand dry hops.

FYI, for anyone looking for data points on BRY-97, I have use it for two straight batches with apparent attenuations of 90 and 95%

We have three goats. Hilarious little critters, but horrible brew partners!

Brewed a Citra/Galaxy IPA. Busted out the keggles for garage brewing in 90 degree heat and 100% humidity. It was awesome (no sarcasm)! Both propane tanks kicked during the boil, but have an ACE 2 blocks away so it wasn't a disaster.

    10 lb. 2-Row
    2 lb. Golden Promise
    1 lb. Flaked wheat
    3/4 lb. Carapils

    .5 oz Columbus @ 60 min.
    2 oz Citra @ 5 min
    1 oz Galaxy @ 5 min
    3 oz Citra @ FO
    1 oz Galaxy @ FO

    US-05
Going to dry hop with 3 oz. Citra, maybe do my first keg hop addition with Galaxy.
The smell out of the airlock is incredible.

Did a little partigyle brewing yesterday on a miserably humid day, but the brewing went well. First runnings are going to be a fairly strong saison with Citra. I added 3# of wheat to the mash tun and re-mashed, yielding me 1.030 wort for what will become a hibiscus grisette. All in all a productive brew day.

I just tapped a keg of an all-Citra/Galaxy pale ale over the weekend. The nose with that hop combo is indeed ridiculous.

What is it you hope to accomplish with your shift to extract? Shorter brew days, or something else?

Yep, shorter brew days. I'm going to try to knock out 4 brews per day instead of 1-2. It's an experiment of sorts.

I'll be moving next year to a, hopefully, forever home. I'm going to build a full barrel setup in the new house. For now it's lots of 5-6 gallon brewdays :slight_frown:

That looks like a great recipe, I love Citra, doing an apa with only late and heavy citra hops next week or so.

Wort for the first stage of a yeast starter is currently cooling. It's for a Black IPA that I plan to brew on Friday. I also need to clean out a kicked keg this week. Cheers!

Bottling my saison tomorrow. It was the first beer bread with my new spikebrewing kettle so I hope it comes out well.

There are pubs here in VT with smaller systems.
