I dont really get how Black Note came in last and Central Water won but hey thats the beauty of blind tastes.

Crazy. I have not had BA Siberian Night. But, non-blind, I would rank Central Waters as by far the worst beer in that bunch.

It's pretty nice that you chose the most available and affordable beer as your favorite. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like fun! I wonder how Sunday Morning Stout would have been ranked in this tasting?

Agreed with most people on here as the CW was far too thin for my liking. Fun blind taste test, always my favorite way to do a review of similar beers.

Funny cause I personally enjoy BCBS and Black Note way more than Central Waters and Bb Pt5...but what the hell do I know?

I agree about Blacknote wholeheartedly- had it multiple times- very unimpressed. It's too simple and 1 dimensional for me.
    To each his own- CHEERS

Coffee additive means it would be disqualified from entering.

Out of the ones I've had in your tasting, Black Note is easily my favorite, but I'm not at all surprised that it came last. I don't find blind taste testings to be quite as accurate as they might seem. Black Note is very balanced (i.e. less flavor) compared to the others so it's almost impossible to stand out. The same thing happens with blind IPA tastings. The hoppiest is usually the winner, regardless of flavor. It's still a fun experiment but not the end-all, be-all that it might appear to be.

When we did something similar. Black Note started out rated last on the initial tasting for everyone and half of the people changed it to 1st after it warmed up some. Only 4 people were involved, but hey its still science .

Well, of course. It's the only reason any of us here drink beer. Science!

When is the last time you had it? I'm sure others can testify that CW has been improving their barrel program each year and last years BBS was one of the best. It is thinner compared to others, but the nose and flavor are top tier, IMO.

Its good but I would definately put it last on this list. Its a good beer at an even better price but its thinness alone holds it back from contending with the big boys.

I love seeing CW on top, my favorite flavor of the bunch and if it was a little thinker I think it would destroy :grinning:

I've had both tap of bottles of the most recent release, I agree on the thin body, I also found the carb a bit prickly and not as much bourbon as other top tier stouts

Nope, the only thing better than BCBS is Uncle Jacob's, which is also double the price:flushed:
