Does everybody get a free golf cart to traverse the cavern? That would be awesome and horrible at the same time :astonished:

Almost all signs point to this being a good thing:

    14% more breweries
    22% more attendees
    31% more square footage
    0% increase in price

    Went from 5.9 SF/person to 6.3 SF/person
Went from 0.014 breweries/person to 0.013 breweries/person (equivalent to 70/75 people per brewery respectively)

Ha, nice. So now that WTF is confirmed for Wednesday, debating whether it's worth the cost (and 5 hours of life in Denver). The 2014 thread sounded like something that I would not enjoy.

I know it's a long way in advance, but anyone know if the Young Guns dinner is happening this year? It has previously been on Wednesday night.

I haven't seen anything yet. I just sent The Kitchen a note and will report back.

I got an email from them stating a change in format most likely and on Wednesday night.

Not sure which I'll choose if that's the case. Guess I'll just sit tight and buy WTF tickets either way. I don't think I'll have much trouble unloading them if the events overlap.

For the those that have been to multiple sessions, which is usually the best to go to?
Last year, went to WTF and Rare Beer and skipping the main thing, but I'm planning on trying to go to one of the sessions now since WTF is on Wednesday.
I was debating on either Thursday or the member's Saturday afternoon session. Thanks in advance.

I used to be a Saturday afternoon only guy... but now I'm a Thursday night only guy. First night of the fest, all the brewers are there, much more communal.

I vote Thursday too, but Saturday afternoon is a close, close second. Friday night is really not as bad as many people think.

I went Friday for years. It was the only day I could make it. While chaotic, it's still a lot of fun. With the possible jumble of events going on this year, I might end up going Friday this year. The 2nd session on Saturday is the one I'd avoid. Lots of stuff is long gone and everyone is beer'd out by that point.

So even though I'm a member of the AHA and would "theoretically" have the pick of the litter for sessions (including Saturday day session) you would recommend the Thursday night session?

Yes. I've been going to the GABF since the 90s and, IMO, the first session has always been the best session. There's a ton of brewers pouring and a lot of energy. You might want to check out the paired/Farm to Table too. https://www.greatamericanbeerfestival.com/tickets/farm-to-table/

I'm planning on flying from DC for my first GABF. I'm not a member of the AHA....is it difficult to get tickets for Thursday night if I try to purchase the first day/hour they're available to the general public?

    Cheers in advance...

They are both good, but Saturday has a good news/bad news situation
Good: fewer people, some "rarer" stuff is sometimes tapped
Bad: Brewers are off at the medal ceremony, glass glasses ( :astonished: ) make a mess when dropped, some empty kegs

ditto. Though full disclosure, I do get a media pass so I suppose that doesn't count. I'd like to think I'd do it anyways though. Too many beers to try in just one session.
