Looking forward to trying it. I really enjoy Victory at Sea but its distribution is quite limited in this area. The other BP offerings I've had are excellent and not difficult to find.

Had some time ago on tap and it really has a "victory at sea" taste right at the start with the big coffee flavor. But it eventually lightens up like a cream ale. It was almost like a lighter version of V@S. Definitely want to try it from the bottle.

I'm not sure I'm digging a coffee beer that is light and easy drinking...........seems kind of counter intuitive if you know what I mean.

I thought it was fantastic. Had a growler about a month ago and it didn't last long at all.

I don't know what you mean. Do you think coffee should be difficult to drink?

Sort of yes. I guess the fad of the day is iced coffee, but I always think of coffee as real coffee, dark, bitter heavy, slow drinking. I think the same when I think coffee beers too.....FBS, Peche Mortel, Victory at Sea etc. All higher alcohol beers meant to savor, not pound.....just like coffee. That's what I mean.

I see what you mean for sure. I think when I drink a coffee beer, I prefer it to have a heavy/thicker consistency like a great stout tends to be. So when I first had it, it was hard for me to imagine that I wasn't drinking my usual V@S. It will was still good nonetheless. I would honestly give this a try if you haven't already just to see if you like it or not.

This sounds great - BP has really stepped up their availability in VA so I'm hoping this will be an easy 6 to snag. Just hope it's not nearly $20 like GFS.

See I would argue that coffee is not supposed to be bitter and heavy. Single-origin beans from Africa put through a pour-over are bright, acidic, fruity, and slightly sweet, not bitter at all if they're done right. South American beans have sweet cacao, caramel, and dark fruit flavors, again, not bitter if roasted and brewed correctly. Bitterness is associated with coffee thanks to untold years of over-roasting, Starbuckization, abominable instant coffee, and exceedingly cowboy/diner coffee that is insufferable without milk and sugar.

On topic, I can't wait for this to hit my area. V@S is awesome, and I love lighter beers with coffee involved. Oh how I miss Dayman...

Purchased in Nor-Cal, Davis, 7/4/15 bottle date. Six Pack, I think it was 15 bucks.

Believe me, I will try it and will try it with a completely open mind.

But see, that's all I know......that's all many of us know. It might not be right, but it's how our brains are programmed. But as I said above, I'll definitely try it.

I hear you. I'm a big ice coffee fan. (In the summer anyway. BTW is this really a fad? I've enjoyed coffee this way for 20 years). But as I get older, the less I need my hot coffee to be like tar, and the more I've come to appreciate a mild or medium roasted subtle coffee flavor. As for beer, I'm a long-time V@Sea fan, but if this stuff is anything like Naughty Sauce, I will drink it alllllllll up.

I found it at my local Total Wine, but my other local shops are starting to get it in as well.

I've never had a bad thing from BP (most beers are above average to stellar), so definitely looking forward to this. VAS is m favorite offering from them so this should be right up my ally. Hopefully the cost isnt too "BP-esque".
