Surly Todd The Axe Man

.....and there goes the glimmer of care I had for a potential bottle release in Decorah this week or next.

 

I forget what part of Iowa you're in, but I believe CR got these in. I know Oakland Rd had them but don't know if they still do.

 

Plenty of both 1349s at Total Wine Burnsvillle when I was there... Fridayish?

 

I called 3 stores (it was as bad as it sounds) on my way home from work inquiring about Axeman on Thursday/Friday since I'm out of town next week and I wanted to take some with on my vaction.

1) Vintage Chanhassen reports it won't be ready to hit distro until Saturday at the earliest according to their rep, in which case they'd have it next week

2) Cheers Chanhassen had no idea what I was talking about

3) Savage Marketplace (please no one go there, this is my honey hole) says that his Surly rep just left and told him it would be next week at the earliest, possibly later.

If anyone sees it Thursday or Friday please let me know, I'm going to the cabin for a week on Saturday and would love nothing more than to take a case of Todd with me.

 

Does anyone know if Todd the Axe Man will be in 4-packs or 6-packs? Price?

 

Surly only does 4 packs (of 16oz cans) for their regular lineup or seasonal and from a tweet from Surly, sounds they will be targeting Abrasive pricing, so $16ish to $18ish.

 

Same here man. Every store I've called said next week or they didn't know when. I'll see what I can get at 1010 Washington on Friday(though I'm sure not a case as there's already a waiting list)and gladly give you what I can - could possibly meet you half way in Edina(you're in Channhassen I'm assuming?)

 

I have a hard time believing anyone is getting cans of Todd this Friday.
I think we're looking at the last week of July for the release.

 

That's what the guy at 1010 Washington Wine and Spirits told me?? He even took down my name for a waiting list,dunno...

 

And he said this Friday last week so he didn't mean the 24th either.

 

What if, and believe me this is a hypothetical, What if Surly got delayed somehow and the guy at 1010 Washington Wine wasn't notified?

Nobody is getting Axeman this week. Guy at 1010 is obviously misinformed.

 

I contacted the actual brewery, in regards to if we will see any in Chicago. Their response:

We do not have any details set on the release of Todd the Axe Man. Keep an eye out on our website, Facebook, and Twitter, once we know more you guys will too.

 

If they don't even know details yet I can't imagine it would come out before middle of next week at the earliest

 

Yeah, but this is regarding Chicago.

 

Nice way of saying it's ready when it's ready.
