Have you tried Purity Amber Weiss? I was pleasantly surprised by the level of tartness from this Berliner Weiss after trying several recent American attempts at the style.

Does anyone know what is going on with these guys? I have only seen Purity at Blue Max.

Really its a Berliner Weisse? I will have to give that a try! Seen it around, but never had the urge to purchase.

It is definately a Berliner Weiss. A bit undersold just like their Helles is closer to a Zwickel/Keller Bier than Surly Hell. Where have you seen their beer?

It is all over the northern metro, I just walk by because I have yet to find many German style beers that make me come back for more. Now a Berliner Weisse is the game changer. Northgate in blaine Cellars in roseville Haskell's WBL and Big Top moundsview.

Interesting that being located in Plymouth they would have more of a presence in the west metro. Being contract brewed at Brau Brothers should not hurt them in this area either. Must be a distributor issue.

You've got to make the trek out to the BrewFarm someday soon. I brew a large number of different saisons and "farmstead" beers but have not delved into brewing sours (yet...) but am aiming for later this Fall.

Leech Lake Brewing Pineapple Pale ale was not a sour. It was just a pineapple pale ale. Although it did have some sour characteristics there was no brett, lacto or pedio made with it. Not very much pineapple either I beleive the brewer said around 2 dozen pineapple to 5bbls

I have been meaning to get out there. Several friends of mine have been out there and raved about it. 2 years ago at where the wild beers my wife and I chatted with you and your wife for a while. I think we'll come out this fall with our new baby and I am looking forward to it.

Available locally. But not made locally -- the always delicious Jolly Pumpkin. That's my go-to when I need a sour fix...
