Ben I think I'm with you on this. I also have never heard of anyone refer to beers like Prop or Huna as adjunct. I've never really heard that term used very often when referring to beer in general. Apparently this is escalating quickly though, found this in another thread I follow this morning.

Uhhhhhh, what's up with all the trash talking for this beer. From what I also have heard it is outstanding. Moreover, I do think they actually put thought into the extra grain bill they used (which is rye and I think it will be a great addition) and they didn't just throw in "whatever" they had lying around. We always don't need adjuncts in a beer to make it great. Many of the best beers that I have had have been absent of adjuncts

I don't think these are considered adjuncts, as they aren't used to replace a portion of the grist & don't really factor into the OG. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I agree with you, Nate...that's the proper technical definition in terms of beer brewing...but it seems the term has come to mean something else...to the consumer, at least...

Haha, that would be funny if it were true. Nobody would wait 9 hours for CBS.....

Oh I'm sorry. I meant the prep line getting ready for lunch service today. My mistake.

Im sure there are people out there that would wait 9 hrs for CBS. This would definitely be the place to harbor those people. There was a discussion I believe last year about CBS. I was amazed at how many people still have not had the opportunity to try this beer. Especially since it has made numerous appearances around the city.

Note: I am not trying rehash said discussion.

I am one of them. Every time it hit, I had some sort of conflict. Not this time though. I'll be there for dinner and a drink or 3.

I've not had it...but most certainly wouldn't wait in any sort of line for it. The fact that I haven't had it most likely proves that :grinning:

It is a really enjoyable beer but also have had it several times this year and am not going to fight the madness that will probably be at Mad Mex tonight. If I hadn't tried it, I would probably be there at 6 hovering around.

Have never tried it either. Will be heading over at 5:30ish to secure a spot at the bar.

I'll also be there tonight. But just to get out of doing more work at my house.

Have had CBS before, would like to try it again--think it's like when Die Hard is on TV and I get sucked into watching it.

But, alas, we are headed to Hershey for the weekend. Al's has a bunch of Pizza Boy stuff on, as well as ten Tired Hands drafts, which I haven't seen there before. Might try out Hater's Tears. Also heard Troegs is debuting a DIPA, and maybe not a Scratch as they may assign it a name right out of the gate (Nimble Giant?).

I will be at Mad Mex around 6 with a few buddies for dinner. Probably going straight from work, so if anyone sees a very large gentlemen wearing a blue striped button up, give me shout!

I am probably in the minority, but I prefer KBS to CBS. And it's not that close.

Have never had CBS, probably never will. I'm not a fan of KBS and generally find Founders to be pretty underwhelming outside of Backwoods Bastard.

I always find KBS to be extremely well-balanced, while many BA Stouts are very bourbon-forward. KBS has a good balance of coffee, chocolate, vanilla from the barrel, and has a body that isn't thin or cloyingly sweet.

Most of my beer friends that think KBS is overrated think so because they prefer BA stouts that are much more barrel-forward.
