Canned today. Should be on shelves 7/29.

I'm not complaining, but 13 days to hit the shelves? Normally Surly is quick with the can to hand timing...What gives?

That has not been my experience with Surly distribution. We get TG stuff brewed in Florida faster than they can get us cans from Minnesota.

What's odd is I see stuff from surly with pretty quick turn around times. I must just shop at the places that get them first thing, because it's odd to me people are talking about 2-3 week cans when I'm seeing a week or so.

12 days to pick it up and distribute it...thats laughable

Perhaps Surly, knowing that there's large demand for this product, wants to produce multiple batches before release, blitz the market at the end of the month, and minimize empty shelves complaints. I'm just speculating.

Hey - don't shoot the messenger!

While I also find it laughable, I'm actually not too broken up about it. I'm out of town and won't be back until the 27th, so I was worried I would miss the first drop. Guess not!

While I trust my source, it wouldn't shock me to see it on shelves before 7/29 either. Stranger things have happened I suppose.

I have seen 6 day old Furious at Sams Club in Maple Grove.

I live about 325 miles north of Mpls and I have been able to purchase week-old Furious locally on multiple occasions. Not sure what happens that you folks in the cities can't get it in a decent timeframe. It's kinda disappointing.

Well, you know, supply and demand basically. Surly is making more beer than they can sell, at least in some segments of the market.

^^ don't be pompous it has to do with supply chain management as well, plenty of seasonals sit in a warehouse for a month before hitting the shelves before the distributor will enter the new product into the market in hopes of selling the old. JJ Taylor has been notorious of this for one example.

My source told me that there was a little delay because they were having trouble with the seamer sealing the cans properly.

I'm a little confused about how this happens. Do they not use the same system for the billion cans of Furious, Hell, Bender, Coffee Bender, Overrated, Bitter Brewer, Blakkr, Doomtree, etc?

Seaming heads have a tendency to break down occasionally. I make spam every day, the machines do not run perfect all day everyday.

Why does the machine always screw up on the good stuff?
