Agreed, I enjoyed it better than Alesmith's BA Wee Heavy for sure. I shared a bottle with a friend and will definitely pick up a couple more.

Oh, btw, wasn't talking specifically of Hopernicus, just beers in general. That was actually the first picture of Hopernicus I've seen.

BA full malted is amazing, so much better than the regular and even the batch they made 2 years ago.

Get at least 2 if you can. As after one, you will want more.

went to Beachwood tonight during the Darkpocalypse of DTLB. System of a Stout, BA Full Malted Jacket, and Rye Like an Eagle were all on tap alongside Hopernicus and Amalgamator. Great taplist!

So looking at BWLB's hop cam it is blank (nothing). Is this the beginning of the end of guest beers at their Long Beach location? I know they were planning on getting rid of the guest beers and going with all BW's beers only.

Also, all of the taps are pretty full with all of the BW beers they had on for the Anniversary.

That NEEDS to happen! I've never bought a guest beer at the LB location.

There were 32 house beers for 36 possible taplines when I was there this afternoon. I think this is why there are no guest beers.

Taking a break from today. Just cracked open a growler of CitraHolic. This is tasting so delicious right now. Looking forward to the next batch. And yes, I like this better than Hoper-whatchamacallit.

Citraholic and Mocha Machine have been confirmed for release on Tuesday, August 18. We have not set bottle limits yet.

To respond to @dcgunman : We have no plans to get rid of guest taps entirely; however, we also have no plans to expand our number of handles beyond 36--so that necessarily will limit the number of guest beers we can pour at any given time as our current capacity allows us to keep an average of 20+ house beers on most of the time. We still have the ability to (as we did during LA Beer Week last month) shuffle stuff around and put on 15 or so guest beers for special events.
