Totally neglected to share this but yes received another coveted handshake from a great local. Nate turned me on to a cool little brewery called One Well and we shared a great flight of beers. I think this is Locals handshake #20 for me. Love meeting and driving with Locals!

Just returned home from a pretty epic beercation and figured I'd share some pictures with you perverts...

I got a few shelf saisons...although some of the Arthurs are a new Dry Hopped variant so maybe not "shelf"


I also got a few other HF bottles that aren't quite shelf, along with some other VT goodies. Unfortunately there was a beer festival this weekend so Heady chasing was worse than usual


and lastly some more hops...


Just when I finished lugging all of this up to the 3rd floor, I remembered that my first ever trade partner and now only non-Local RTP had texted me on Thursday that his box had landed. This was a blind trade that started when he offered to pick me up a bottle or two of Adam from the Wood/Whiskey AftW. Somehow that turned into an absolute destruction including multiple dG bottles, Pirate Bomb, SitR w/ Peaches, and more.


Needless to say after all of this I had worked up quite a thirst so #VBS #PGW


At least 3 locals are all ready on the hit list for some of this VT goodness and I'm sure some of it will find its way towards others. Cheers!

ISO: That haul FT: Mouth hugs forever

 

So, one of the beers that @ajaylock sent me was a blind growler. He told me to take a guess at what it was and he'd tell me what it was. All I know is that it is a highly rated local that was meant to be drank fresh. At the risk of being completely wrong and ridiculed, I decided to review it blind. So here goes nothing:

Appearance: Pours a light gold with quite the frothy head. It dissipates fairly quickly to just a bit of it floating on the top. This stays for quite a while. Leaves a lot of lacing as I drink it.

Smell: Hops, hops and more hops. By the smell of them I am thinking mostly Mosaic.

Taste: Reinforces my thought of Mosaic hops. Huge punch up front. It's fruity, but with an earthiness that tells me it's not Simcoe or Citra. Had a decent malt backbone that holds up the hops well without overpowering them. This is delicious.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, and not very sticky, which leads me to believe this is an IPA and not a double.

Guess: With the Mosaic hops being on my mind and @ajaylock being from Texas, this could very well be Yellow Rose. But I feel like that's a little lighter than this one. I'm going with Community Mosaic IPA. I had a bottle of this a year ago and liked it a lot, so hopefully I'm getting to revisit it. If it's YR, then that's good too- because I freaking love that beer . So what say you @ajaylock? Am I even close?? Thanks for the beer either way. Cheers! #VCS
