Pappy Van Winkle bourbon. Very highly regarded, extraordinarily hard to get and outrageously overpriced

It's angel tears. The label should say aged in angel tears.

This should just be called "God" as Jesus' Pappy is the almighty father. (at least I think so, I was drawing boobs during sunday school)

Will a 12oz bottle of this cost more or less than a bottle of Pappy itself?

Guaranteed to be 22oz, so probably the same cost per oz as pappy

I don't mind paying 13-15 for a bottle, but I'm not indulging their greed on this one. At one point you have to ask yourself if it's worth it

Its really not that expensive if you can get it from a reputable liquor store. Im not saying I would buy one again but i think I paid 129 for the 21 year last year. Its right in line with the Antique collection (which I personally find is much better).

Double Barrel Jesus was about $25 in our market. And worth every penny, IMO. I would expect this one will come in somewhere in the $30s. But I could be wrong...

That being said, I'm less interested in the Pappy aspect and more interested in the barrel-aged aspect, especially considering the skill at Westbrook.

What creed? Non barrel-aged EMJ and IBB go for $15-17 a bottle and it's well worth it. I've paid $25 and $26.50 for Double Barrel Jesus and BBA IBB and would do it again.

Very highly regarded by people who don't know much about whisk(e)y. It's not at all overpriced when you consider how high the demand for it is. I'd argue it's criminally underpriced at retail, as the secondary market routinely supports sales of Pappy at well over 500% markup. The 15-year is very much worth seeking out, but the 20 and 23 are just not worth the hassle or expense. You'd be far better served sticking to the W.L. Weller line, and the harder to get but oh-so-fucking-worth-it William Larue Weller from the antique collection.

If you are able to purchase this from the actual store that sells it and not third party it is far from overpriced. I'm guessing you mean after the stores have been ravaged of it and then sold at the outrageous prices you mentioned?
