I noticed that Saison Rue is listed on their site as "retired." This was unwelcome news. I went down the rabbit hole to discovery that it will be "reborn" under a different line (of Wild and Sour beers). Does anyone know whether their Terreux beers are going to be as widely distributed? I would assume they have the same distribution channels, but that doesn't mean it will find shelf space at my local bottle shop in MD.

Long story short: for the past several years they've had problems with their sour beers infecting their "clean" beers. Last year many Society beers were either delivered infected or pulled altogether. They put a positive spin on having to build a new sour facility to separate the two and called it Terreux. It is distributed via the same channels, isn't more limited, etc.

If you could find beers like Saison Rue and Sour in the Rye before you should still be able to find them now, they'll just have the added word "Terreux" and a new label.

I'm in MD and have been able to find Terreux stuff (Sour in the Rye) all over the place. I assume the same will be true for the newly rebranded Saison Rue.

It's the same beers, just made in a different location. I don't know if the branding change has to do with legalities or just to establish very strongly in people's minds that sours and beers are now separate and the chances of infections are reduced.

Speaking of, has anyone seen Hottenroth on the shelf anywhere this year?

It is brewed with Brett. Not something you would want around clean beers. Story poster says 'many' of their released beers were infected. Didn't know know there were 'many' infected.

Yes. Had a bottle this weekend. Could have been a touch more tart but very tasty. Bought in Chicago Burbs.

All the Terreux-label stuff will have identical distro to the non-wild ale stuff. At least that's what I'm hearing.

I've had zero issue finding the Terreux stuff - I know Saison Rue and Sour in the Rye are on shelves right now. I actually had a Saison Rue last night.

No, but has Brett. I should have said sour/funky.

Yes there were quite a few. Over late 2013/all of 2014 at least the following:

    White Chocolate
    Cacaonut
    Rue D'Floyd
    Floyd D'Rue
    So Happens It's Tuesday (S.H.I.T.)
    Soroboruo

That's all I can think of off the top of my head - I'm sure there are others.
