I vote that Deb stands by the bottle hand out window with red hot branding irons unique to each day of each release and brands everyone's left butt cheek.

She could even keep them red hot on the wood oven for the La Fortuna pizzas!

Man, if there really are more bottles of this than the previous releases, that is awesome! Unfortunately for you FIBS, you will have to pack even more changes of clothes now to help NG sell all the bottles. :stuck_out_tongue:

Does everyone that shows up at opening time get a bottle or is there a risk they sell out? Considering driving out there on Saturday but I'd be pretty disappointed if I couldn't get a bottle

There is a risk that they will sell out. There is an allotment for each day. Once the bottles allotted for that day are gone they are sold out. At least that is my understanding. I was at the last release and it was fairly relaxed compared to other breweries. Then again, I was there on a Friday and arrived around 10:00 A.M.

All of the identification talk has steered the conversation away from something much more important, what is everyone bringing for a bottle share?

I am planning on coming either Thursday or Friday. Technically, I should get back to work in the afternoon but I am putting my status at "doubtful."

Just to be clear I don't want them to use any of those extremes, marking our hands with a sharpy is good enough. My point was the best thing would be for all of us to behave and be considerate.

However, if your gonna go the technology route why not use a modified system thats already being used? we have bar codes on ID's for a reason. Its no more or less flawed than finger prints or some other elaborate method of line control.

Dan and Deb are not the police a brewery is only gonna do so much to make sure your not a douche which is fine we don't need to inconvenience everyone because a few people are greedy.

No officer he was trying to get more beer than he was allowed by the brewery, I had to punch him! I swear to drunk I'm not god, I only had two beers world wide stout and 120 minute IPA.

Saturday will likely be the busiest day, and of the four R&D releases scheduled for this year (two of which have already passed), this will be the busiest by far because of the Great Taste of the Midwest. There is a very real possibility that showing up after they start selling (9:00 AM) will result in you missing out. It is impossible for anyone to say when a good time to show up will be, but if guesstimates are right, you need to be one of the first 750 people to be guaranteed a bottle. I would hope that showing up at 8:00 AM would be fine, but like I said, no one knows, and given your long journey, I wouldn't want to chance driving and missing, so I'd err earlier than you think.

Please let's not turn this into a shitshow though, people? I don't want to be at the brewery at 4:00 AM like I had to be for GTMW tickets.

I'll be there Thursday and maybe Friday. I don't know what I'll bring to share yet. I'll see what everyone else is bringing.

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm from CA where we mostly do online ticket sales or have absolute shit-show releases (which I tend to avoid), but how do bottle shares in line work? Do you just line up and associate with whoever is near by? Do you move up and down the line, talking, sharing, etc? I'm hoping to make it to the Thursday and Friday release, bringing goodies for the Thursday release.

I would say that almost everybody brings beer to share in line, so you probably won't have to move up/down in line to find good people to drink with. If you do move, just keep a chair in your original spot and go back to it when the line starts moving. The line moves fast as hell, so it might sneak up on you.
