MILWAUKEE, WI (FEB 2012) - After a very successful second year, Inferno Marketing Group is thrilled to announce the date for the Third Annual Milwaukee Brewfest, taking place at the old Coast Guard Pavilion at McKinley Park on Milwaukee’s beautiful lakefront July 28, 2012. In the heart of Milwaukee, this great location is within walking distance of the Eastside and Downtown. Beautiful views and ample space have proven this a great spot for a craft beer tasting event!

This year we will have unlimited sampling of over 200 craft beers and micro brews from over 60 breweries from across the country. Back by popular demand, the 2012 Milwaukee Brewfest will also have a special German Row.

Although everyone comes for the beer, we’ll have a number of on-site activities for added entertainment:

    • Live musical performances
    • Crowning of the 2012 Milwaukee Brewfest Queen
    • A variety of food available for purchase from local restaurants and vendors
    • Food sampling from various Wisconsin-based companies
    • Displays by a number of local artists and craftsmen

Milwaukee Brewfest will take place from 3pm-7pm with 2pm early admission for all VIP ticket holders. General admission tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the gate. VIP tickets are $55 in advance or $60 at the gate. Ticket sales are limited, be sure to get your tickets while you can.

If we're being honest, I'm not sure it's necessarily worth it at all. It's much more a "marketing" fest rather than a "enjoy quality beer" fest. You don't get to try anything that'll come close to knocking your socks off (don't get me wrong, there is some tasty stuff, but no "WOW" stuff) with the regular ticket, and to be honest the biggest perk to the VIP tickets were the VIP only bathrooms.

Not to mention its on the same weekend as the Michigan Summer Beer Fest...I know where I'd rather be.

This was a really fun fest but came up short (as in big time shortage) of supply. Most stands were closed out an hour before the end of the tasting. A few even came half assed (Finch !) and Three Floyds AGAIN this year was a no show. Lame.
That said. I was stoked to check out Oskar Blue and the Legit Wisconsin Craft seen which is just awesome. From it I went straight to the sto and...
Oskar Blue Dales IPA and Deviant Dale
    New Glarious Thumprint Douple IPA
    Ale Asylum Hopolicious and Bedlam
    BOOM !

I was very impressed with bells brining a Firkin of two hearted and then a quarter barrel of black note.

Also, even tho I wasn't vip I got to have a taste of upland lambic, but it was one of the last pours for sure. Talked with the rep and they said they brought blackberry and strawberry for the vip ppl.

All in all, other than the beer running out at the end, I'd say things were better this year than last. Hopefully they keep improving this thing and bells set the standard now for breweries to bring their rare stuff.

Agreed. Who else had a Firkin....I think it was summit ? It lifts the event up to a higher grade for sure. Apparently VIP is now the way to go. This year there was some groupon that went around and sold the VIP for the price of general. Or so I heard. I will be looking for that next year.

**ck me, where did Upland have lambic for the VIP? Didn't see it in the VIP area, and I purposefully checked out their table to see if they had brought something like that and only saw their regular beers! I am so disappointed to have missed out on that...

Lakefront had a couple of firkins that they tapped. There were a couple of firkins in the VIP area, Tallgrass Princess Peach, some Miller Valley stuff that I passed on, and somebody's Strawberry Blonde Ale which was pretty good.

If you are going to spend $55 for VIP on this fest, I would say save $5 and just go to Great Taste of the Midwest.

This event is great for getting people into beer but the selection really lacks. I was at the first one two years ago and this one this weekend. The festival is definitely making strides in the right way though.
