Charleville has a good one called hairy cow, and another is seven devils from olde hickory. Both under the radar but great.

Dirty Bastard, one of my favorite beers. Arcadia has one called Loch Down Scotch Ale which is good too. I love this style

I agree that Founders Backwoods Bastard takes the prize here.

While they're not exactly barrel-aged Wee Heavies, here are two beers with similar taste profiles that are worth checking out (if you can get them)...

    1. Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron (a huge brown ale aged in palo santo wooden tanks - available year-round in most places)
    2. Quaff Bros. Brown Chicken Brown Cow (a bourbon-barrel aged American brown ale from a tiny brewer in Cincinnati - this one-time offering is currently still available (link), but you'll probably have to trade for it if you're not in the Cincinnati area)

Did they bottle this or just available via tap at the brewery? If bottled, someone please hook a SoCal brother up!

I believe it was just bottled.

Olde Hickory Seven Devils is decent, but doesn't hold a lick to Backwoods...

Wish I could even find Backwoods to try as I really enjoy Founders, but Orkney's Skullsplitter is @ the top of the list for sure style.

Which do you prefer? The Traquair House ale or the Traquair Jacobite Ale?

I've actually never been able to get my hands on the Jacobite, but I've had the House Ale and have a few 2020's in my cellar. I loved House Ale, though. It goes to show how process is everything in brewing, as the recipe is completely simple stupid, uses one hop variety and almost entirely Pale Malt, yet brings more complexity to the table than nearly anything else on the market.

Hoppin' Frog's BA Outta Kilter should hit shelves soon.
