    Hey Gents -

I'm going to be up in the greater Milford area from 7/24-7/26, and am hoping to grab something that I can't regularly find by me (Philadelphia). Just want to put it out there that I'm pretty much singularly an IPA fan, so any recommendations that would score me some hard to finds would be greatly appreciated.

Only thing I really have going is that we'll be golfing in Woodbridge on Friday so the hope is to swing by NEBCO after 18 holes, maybe get lucky with some Fuzzy but I realize its a longshot. We will be staying pretty close to "down-town" so I plan on stopping at Eli's as it seems to have a stellar taplist at times.

I know that Lawson's is a luck-grab, I'm also hoping to grab some Captain's Daughter as I've recently heard good things. Can you guys throw out some advice - either in the bottleshop or bar dept OR an IPA that I should grab or look for while I'm up here?

    Thanks and Cheers.

Grab cans of NEBCO Sea Hag. Should be all over the place. Very very good stuff when fresh. No shot at Fuzzy. You might get lucky with some SoS or Super Session as it was just dropped, but you have to ask for it pretty much everywhere.

Prime 16 in Orange usually has a decent tap list, too. About 10 minutes from downtown milford. I assume you're probably staying off exit 39.

Bar 333 they consistently have good beer on tap and regularly have cpt daughter and lawsons, either sip cans or super session on tap. as for down town, eli's is ok also check citrus. No recommendations on bottle shops tho, no one around milford has hard to finds on the shelf and about every shop hides the good stuff for their regulars. A good spot for decent selection is wines and more on boston post road and loading dock on the boston post road. If you go to nebco , shoot over around the corner to amity wines and liquor. Good selection and if sip or super session has dropped they will have it.

Bar 333 is 1/4 mile from me but I don't visit it for loyalty reasons so I can't review. I've heard good things about the tap selection, though.

Not really, aside from what's been mentioned!

Thanks for all the input, fellas. It looks like a NEBCO stop is in the looks, and based off of taplist this Eli's place on Daniel Street is going to be a must stop.

All told, I'm hoping to get these new tastes in this weekend:
    Maine Lunch
    Gandhi-Bot
    Sea Hag

and MAYBE (if the beer gods are smiling) Sip of Sunshine as it is on the "next" list for Eli's and Captain's Daughter.

    wish me luck.

You have a fairly good shot at Gandhi Bot for sure as it was on at the brewery yesterday so even if it kicks there, you could hope to find it on draft somewhere.

If you are a fan of sours, OEC is releasing experimentals with peaches this saturday, probably one of their most sought after beers.

last i checked (this morning) SBC right next to eli's has sip on tap and super session. Check nebco, coriolis might be on and if you have a few hours to kill waiting for it, if you dont, then i would pass on nebco bc you will wait in the coriolis line for gbot. looks like lunch at elis kicked. My recommendation would be go to sbc for lawsons and beat some of the downtown crowd. It gets nuts there at night.

i wonder how fast the OEc will sell out ? i want to stop but i cant get there until they open.

A little south of Milford (15 minutes or so) is Pawtucket RI 3 great breweries within three miles of each other right off 95 just after the mass line. Foolproof, Bucket brewery, and Crooked Current's all are great. Head further south in RI and you can visit the home of captain's daughter: Grey Sail, or the fun guys of Whalers and Proclamation.. Anyway LOTS OF 401CRAFTBEER...for lunch visit Doherty's eastave cafe...hundreds of craft on tap...Don't miss picking up some of Sean Larkin's beers from revival or others at Nickie's or High Spirits two of my favorite packies just towards providence a mile or two from Bucket brewery. Any which way you cut it RI may be little but it has a huge craft beer scene not to be missed. Ravenous in Woonsocket; Brutopia in Cranston and Trinity in Providence both brewpubs offering Sean Larkin beers as well as collaborations. Did I mention you may find a food truck or two parked at the breweries on Saturdays.

I think he's referring to Milford CT.... But that is a good recap of the RI scene!
