Dammit! I hate to miss this! Such a bad ass time in the line and the morning share is such a treat, too! I wonder if The Gary "RedneckBeerz" Maness will be in attendance? God, I miss that crazy bastard!

 

I can't believe I'm going to miss this year. It's my favorite gathering. And, yes!, I love me some Redneck Beerz! He's awesome!

 

Hey guys, I'm taking the drive up solo this time from North GA. I remember last time everyone was really cool and welcoming for the camp out. Only thing I didn't see was the Saturday morning bottle share, where does it go on? When my friend and I went last time, we just got our bottles then headed out.

At any rate, I'm looking forward to gettin there Friday night. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know!

 

Saturday morning bottle share is all throughout the building.

 

Oh, I assumed it was in line in the morning before the brewery opened, is that not the case? I was thinking about driving over from WNC and was trying to decide how early to get there to participate in the bottle share, but if it doesn't really get going until after they open at 9am is there any reason to get there really early (like 5-6am)?

 

Some people get there in the middle of the night, but it sounds like the trend towards that is changing with what appears to be a larger bottle count and allocation. Maybe not though, I guess we won't know until we show up.

 

Beer's are shared in line throughout the night, but at a subtile pace. Once the doors to the pub open in the morning folks wonder around and share great bottles and the share begins in earnest.

 

Sorry, I was calling that the Friday evening share, not the Saturday share Definitely people sharing beer over night while in line outside. Probably not quite the caliber of beer I've seen shared inside the next morning, but still some really awesome stuff.

 

I know him and he is indeed a fine fellow. I hope that he shows up for you.

Couple questions for the old timers here...

I've done this release two years in a row, but I've just shown up in the morning and snagged what I could. So, I'm curious about the Friday bottle share and the morning share.

Friday Share:

1. I've heard disparaging remarks about this share. That everyone places their beers in a shared container - and folks who want to try a beer, just pull one out and pour. I'm unsure I like the sound of that. I'm a big fan of shares where my bottle stays in front of me and I control the pours and the share - as does everyone else. I enjoy meeting the people who brought a brew to share, and discussing that beer.

2. I've also heard the share pulls a lot of "freeloaders," folks who don't contribute to the share, but hang out just to drink free beer. Is this the case?

Morning Share:

How exactly does this work? The first hundred (or less) people to get in line are presented the opportunity to go in the brewery first, right? That's when the share occurs - in the hour or so before the line starts moving? If so - what time do I need to be in line to ensure myself a spot at that share?
