Yeah good question. My guess would be that the case shop is reasonable and the bottle shop may not be.

Brings it back around to D's, He owns McBrooms as well and that place is reasonable on cases.

Good call. I did. And now I feel special. There is surprisingly little information on their website or Twitter feed, so the entry is a bit barebones.

Donnie Darko is good, the soundtrack is great, but it doesn't help that the director fucked it all up with his 'director's cut'. Apparently he thought his movie was a commentary on the American school system. Kinda like making a great sour when you intended to make a Doppelbock I guess.

    Primer is way better anyway.

I know it isn't necessarily Pittsburgh related yet, although I know the rumors are constant about Boulevard coming to Pittsburgh, but has anyone had Boulevard Chocolate Ale recently? I had a bottle from the first batch a few years ago and really liked it, chocolate was there, subtle and in a different way than a chocolate stout, but definitely there. Had a bottle last night from what I assume is a relatively recent batch and got very little chocolate, overall a pretty boring beer, I've had a few duds from Boulevard's new stuff lately which surprises me.

Had it last fall among a few other chocolate beers. Wasn't great, feel like I remember a kind of flabby bell pepper flavor to it.

So was Beer Nutz before it, & their prices were no lower than any other bottle shop around.

    Agreed.
The only time I had this was an infected batch. I didn't mind it that much, but it was clearly VERY infected. A guy traded me a bunch of BCBS a few years ago with the stipulation that I had to also take his infected Blvd Chocolate Ale off his hands.

Primer was definitely impressive, even more so considering its budget and how it was made. Have you seen Upstream Color, which was the director's follow up movie to Primer? Can't really say if I liked it or not, but it was definitely an interesting experience.

And to answer your other question, I have not had that Boulevard beer. In fact, I don't think I've had any beers from Boulevard.

If you enjoyed Upstream Color in any amount, you may also appreciate Advantageous, which I thought was a little better.

Weird - would he have felt too much guilt had he just tossed them?

Much like half of my cellar, I've been waiting for the right occasion to enjoy upstream color. That probably means I should just throw some .rar/.old beer in the fridge and watch it this weekend.

I've really liked blvd's barrel program. Not at the level of Deschutes, FW, etc, but BBQ, their imperial stout, rye on rye, and love child[ren] are all solid.

I guess. Yeah, was definitely a little weird. But I gave them a good home.

Barbarian is still "under construction" and is changing pretty dramatically batch to batch until dialed in. I will talk to the boss man and get it updated.

Also currently making a Berliner Weisse and it going really well thus far. I will keep yinz updated with that. Also if you're in highly recommend trying our new Grisette and Kolsch (Not BJCP guideline worthy FYI), really proud of these two beers.

It wasn't the Waterworks...but they did have 5 Green Flash beers on for around $13. Le Freak and 3 other IPA's and one other.

Victory's version of Saison du Buff just came out again. Have a look at the label if you see it. It's a pic of Sam , Greg and Bill from 2003. Sam from dogfish Head still kind of looks the same but the other 2 look totally different. @StoneGreg didn't quite have the bearded beer guy look yet. This amused me all day at work. It's a great label by victory.
