Am I wrong to assume it is amazing. I love how they get their beers on shelves the same day they bottle it.

Is Kook $16/6pack normally? I was a little shocked checking out with it the other day.

Totalwine was 13.99, everywhere else seems to be around $15.

Anyone else go to the Xocoveza release in Pasadena this morning? What a mess. Got there at 10:40 and was in line until 12:10 at which point they ran out of the Charred. They said they had 50 cases total but originally expected to get 60 cases of each. I really didn't like how they handled things.

I'm still perplexed by that beer. I mean, tasting my last bottle of Xocoveza a couple of weeks back and it was completely a mess and dropped off from when fresh. I guess a Bourbon barrel version may be interesting to try, but I can't see how the flavors that originally made it so good wouldn't have dropped off by now in either, let alone, how often is Mezcal/tequilla ever something that helps a beer?

But people are flipping their shit over it because of nostalgia.

Similar to Dayman. Great beer fresh. But after a few weeks what makes it great is gone. I wouldn't want it barrel aged in anything as these adjunct filled Stone stuff seldom age well and are anything more than a novelty bottle to share.

Yeah, total mess. I jammed out of line at like 11:50 when the rep showed the cutoff in line where bottles would sell-out.

I heard 60 cases of each from that rep, but no way that's right... there wasn't 200+ people in front of me; maybe half that.

A friend who made it inside heard 20 cases of each which would make more sense given the short time and low number of purchases it took to sell out.

Must've been a poor yield on this beer...

I just wanted a bottle to see how it was because I liked the original release. Didn't expect it to be such a hot item.

I was right at the cut-off so I rolled the dice. I would have been able to get the Extra but I didn't want it. The rep confirmed they originally expected 60 cases of each but after we challenged him on the math, he doubled checked. It was 30 cases of Charred and 20 of the Extra. He said they might get more tomorrow but I'm not going back.

Seems like its been a back to back to back to back shit show for bottle releases these days with Velvet, Berry Bewitching and now even a Stone variant? So odd. I think we need a couple of releases that aren't power house shit shows to even this out and make me feel like it's not getting worse and worse with new money.

At least El Segundo is still knocking it out with same day bottled stuff that isn't causing riots. Oh, please don't let Raised Eyebrow turn into a shit show as well. That should be on sale in another 2-3 weeks.

Yeah he kept mentioning that to the point i found it odd. Sounds like they're sitting on some stock to trickle out or some sh*t...
