Happened to be in Champane's this AM when they got their one lowly case, which still sold out in an hour with a one-per limit (at 10am, no less). At 3pm, Holiday Market was proudly displaying their four+ cases on the floor, managed to snag a bottle. Happy it wasn't a BCBS-level shutout for me.

I'm surprised Holiday Market didn't have a limit on theirs. Did they sell out yet?

So I'm not sure how common it is to quote your own post, but at the end of the day Riverside did me very good. After seeing their post on Facebook, I asked if they'd hold me a bottle. For what it's worth, I've only been in here a few times (usually while boating the Grand River for some more cheap boat beers). I've also never asked anybody to hold beers for me. I also have ZERO entitlement (if you get there first you earned it!), and as such wasn't really expecting anything.

All that being said, I called Riverside after seeing their response that they 'had' one waiting for me (thinking well SHIT! They actually DID hold me a bottle and I screwed it up). They did in fact still have a bottle waiting for me, and I bought a bottle of Best After as well (contrary to how this reviews, I think I'll be very pleased in about a year when I open it).

I know I sound like I am doing a complete 180, but my original point about an upfront answer remains (and I think MANY people, not just beer guys as well). I would also like to say THANK YOU to Riverside Liquors for helping me out. Absolutely mind blown that they do that kind of thing for a guy asking.

Also want to say THANK YOU to @TheKlevin for the information. I really appreciate the help in locating this one in West Michigan.

In case anyone is still looking, Repetes in Holland has 3 bottles on the shelf.

Already in Lansing, haven't seen it in East Lansing yet but I'm sure it's coming very soon.

Wow, would not have thought Meijer would get something like this. I wonder if any others will too.

I am out of luck for now. Apparently their is a thing going on with distribution of a few beers in Lansing, stone being one, and my store has no clue when they will figure it out or when they will get wootstout. If someone got it earlier in the week, they're good, but now, who knows.

Holy hell - this is damn good
    - not a ton of bourbon forthright -

Hey @Jmorey if your store is Oades then yeah, I heard that they couldn't get any of it for some reason yet the Okemos Big Ten was getting a pretty big shipment. Horrocks had it, I guess they had a list but they had more than enough to throw some on display the next day so I popped in and snagged a bunch. If you can't manage to get some hit me up and I'll help you out.

I don't know the barrels, but I suspect you aren't getting a ton of bourbon since only 25% of it is barrel aged. I think it works well for this beer.

Vine and brew, but same deal. Wonder if okemos still had any. Haven't been near there since I have been on "paternity" leave. But I am heading back to work on campus tomorrow.

Was in horrocks today anyways and they said long gone. Really wish more places would post new stuff on social media. Toms started to then stopped. It is why I love vine and brew, along with their low prices.

Since I'm born/raised in MI, I like to follow this regional thread. This issue with Woot 3.0 is just another example of the totally weird/incomprehensible way that beers get distributed around the country. We saw lots of this in & around Philly, yet it seems to be very hard to come by in parts of the country like Michigan. Why?? Other times we never see certain beers around here (hello BCBS)...even when it's around Black Friday.

Neighbor in distribution and said that Stone switched from AB distrib to MC in Grand Rapids and Lansing. Unfortunately right during WOot release so one distrib doesn't care and one doesn't know who they should go to. Oh well.

My opinion was WootStout was much easier to get in MI than some others, say for example High Westified. Places like Holiday Market didn't even have a limit. I could have walked out with all 4 cases.

It is possible WootStout wasn't an allocated item like BCBS. Pretty sure I've heard folks on this site say BCBS is allocated based on sales. I imagine its why we get so little BCBS, because it's tough for GI to compete with places like Bell's and Founders.

Finally when you say "here" in regard to BCBS, do you mean Philly? I thought BCBS was easy to get out east.

Exactly. For Lansing I was told it is switching from Westside to Alliance. And exactly that, during the switch, no one knows what is going on, so we might just be out of luck. The trade involves stone, dragonsmead, and jolly pumpkin.
