We only have government controlled liquor stores here in Ontario...so I have to go stateside for good bottle shops.

Beverage Warehouse of Vermont in Winooski: amazing selection, service and prices.
Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury VT: see above.
Bottle Caps Beverage Centre in Watertown NY: handy to home, great service and good selection.

 

Too funny, I used to live in Bethlehem and that was the best bottle shop. The prices were insane but you could at least get some solid stuff.

 

Gilbert Convenience Mart in Gilbert, Arizona. GCM is the best!

 

Cappy's in Loveland, OH (Cincinnati). Ben has a great selection, pegas growler system with a great list, pint on premise license and best of all the staff is second to none.

I'd agree Binny's is great, I like supporting the little guys though too, The Beer Temple is fantastic and I've recently come across Capones which is pretty good too. Both are found on Chicago's Northside

 

The Art of Beer in Highwood, IL. Roy and the gang are amazing people and their bottle pours are always the newest and hottest beers to have hit the market. Being able to try 4 beers that people are scrambling to get for 10 bucks is awesome.

Binny's get the best selection and prices hands down. Malloys is pretty solid to in the western burbs. I do try to support the small guys as best I can -- Beer Cellar in Glen Ellyn is great, and definately worth checking out. Ardmore is really good as well in Addison.

 

The restaurant I just left and worked at for a few years just won the Best of Philly Beer Shop of the Year award. I was the account buyer and really swore by having great style examples, hot releases, and classic favorites stocked at all times. It's was an amazing selection. Check out Hawthorne's Bier Café in South Philadelphia if you are in the area. I've moved on, but I still send updates of new products from time to time. 30% off beer to go and an amazing 600+ bottle selection.

Cable beverage in bardonia, ny. Anyone who's been here knows why. Amazing selection of stuff. A bit unorganized but there's just so much stuff. Plus growler fills, and you can pull any single.

 

Eh, there's Pairott Head, which probably has the best selection in town but doesn't see a lot of turnover, so they'll add 8 or 10 exciting new things and nothing else for 4-6 months. Everything else there is BMC-oriented to cater to the PSU kids.

 

i have two, Texas Liquor in Carlsbad, CA and Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido...Holiday Wine cellar actually partnered with Stone Brewery and released a 50th anniversary beer!

When i lived in Chicago, my routine was Beer Temple, then to Hot Doug's down the road ( So sad when he closed), then to Capones, which I will say is pretty damn good selection, but if you get friendly with the younger guy that runs it, he will hook you up with some really great stuff if you ask.

Well, I'm very proud of the beer store I run, but in the interest of fairness and giving out some love there are two that stand out and need a shout out!

New home (aka Ohio): Mack's (Pete is an awesome guy!)
Old home (aka North Carolina): Brusin' Ales (Julie, Jay and the team are great people!)

 

Ditto! A dive/hole in the wall place. Jam packed, so watch your elbows. But fantastic selection, guy (owner?) is very helpful and knows exactly where something is. Always spend a lot here. Using their growler fill more and more.

 

Wow, no Mass. love yet? Shout out to the North Shore of Boston. Redstone Liquors and Rapid Liquors. If you cant find it there, it is not distributed. Plus, Redstone does Beer of the Month club, which is a great way to try new beers/styles I would have overlooked.
