Which part of OC are you visiting/moving to?

I don't think it's as bad as the Midwest. Then again I compare all releases to Black Friday in Chicago, Dark Lord Day, and on a lighter note KBS. The only thing is traffic that makes it so much worse.

I can't believe it's still available right now on draft at Eureka in SB.

$68? and you're forced to buy 5 other beers? No thanks...Wow. This store gets worse and worse.

    /appreciate the info though!/

Honestly, I think this is incredibly fair. Stores like El Cerrito needed to buy a certain amount of the other BL products in order to even get FO. To a business, it's like people coming over for a slice of cake and only eating the cherry and frosting. With a product with such polarizing demand and profit opportunity (for El Cerrito to say, keep it themselves), even if you saw it as $60 for the FO with 5 free beers, it's a bargain by market standards.

Or is it $68 + $35 or whatever for the other 5? Yeah, a deal compared to mybeercollectables but I don't dig that.

I'd bet El Cerrito didn't have to go above and beyond there normal BL purchases either.

But, it is a business and it's up to them to weigh what's more important to them I guess, we can choose to patronize them or not.

Seriously? Maybe because for example I just bought a shit ton of Alpine IPAs and don't need the other ones now? Or maybe because I simply like two IPAs in my life? Or maybe, because I just don't like shady and shitty business practices.

    It is.

Maybe. But I'd rather buy beer I want instead of beer I have to buy...I'm surprised by the whole acceptance for such behavior and then you guys shit all over CBK....

I with you on the whole "need to buy X to get Y" in general, but in some cases like this, how else are you going to deal with the shit show the product brings. CBK just does it on every day shit that should be on the shelf anyway. FO really was a shit show in and of itself. I do still find it hilarious that Dark Star sat on shelves as well as Ideation. But oh man, Vanilla in something, GOTTA BUY IT!!!

I think that if this was on more items than just this one shit show piece, then you have a case of comparison or double standards that we have with CBK, but in this case, eh, cost of getting in the door for this one beer that, let's be honest, never hit the shelves anywhere without a line already formed and all accounted for before it got to the store.
