Reflexive association with corporate soullessness. But you make a good point to let those people let themselves off the hook.

People were talking about food trucks in Pittsburgh, so yeah it was a cool story. If only there were good beer to wash it down with I'd have been set. Damn pittsburgh. When will the savior of pittsburgh step up?

That's why I said cool story bro because it obviously was a cool story. My food arrived at Blue Dust on a food truck of sorts however it was not cooked via mobile kitchen. I had good beer with my meal. Sorry to hear you don't like the beer at draai lang. You should've gone to Voodoo.

I guess this was in my defense or a jab? Can't quite tell.

My whole point of having a better bottle shop was that, in general a local bottle shop (or any local business for that matter) is a lot more personal shopping experience, which I enjoy. I haven't been doggin on GE, I actually have been a vocal supporter of their beer department. I just despise my shopping experience, outside of the beer section.

I think his comment was more generalizing groupthink than directed at any one person in particular.

Fair enough. My "alerts" have been on the fritz lately aka not showing up so I am a bit out of the loop.

In defense of; agree that we should not be burdened if we buy beer at GE.

    I'm more deliberate when jabbing.

For those wondering about the New Belgium release - there will be a small amount of Lips of Faith available at the release, including La Folie and Cocoa Mole.

I am looking forward to them being in our market. I love Fat Tire and I will always feel nostalgic towards it. The 1554 is also very good. The LoF stuff can be hit or miss, but I enjoy the variety and they are quite reasonable for a bomber typically.

I think the Lips of Faith stuff is mostly a miss. I used to love La Folie, but it is just way too sour for my tastes now. Like 99% of American Sours, there is no depth or underlying funk. Just...sour.

I am cautiously optimistic for the re-release of Eric's Ale though. I loved that beer when I first had it however many years back.

I think they are mostly misses too, but I still like to try all the goofy shit they come up with.

Haven't had La Folie in a long time so can't remember whether or not it falls into this category...but I agree that a lot of sours produced in this country are straight acetic acid bombs with very little complexity or balance. Anyone can pitch bacteria into a barrel, ignore it for a year and let the beer absorb an over-abundance of O2. It's much more rare for a brewery to actually monitor their aging process, maybe pitching some fruit to stave off oxidation and add complexity...or actually choosing their yeast blend with consideration for what it will do to the beer over time...

I feel the same way about most things that Stone puts out in bombers. Mostly misses, but at the price point, I'm always game for something new and different.

I love fat tire it is a staple of my Disney trips since it is always available. It is not the best beer but it is great for what it is
