This is a 5 Stones Sprung that has been sitting on its side in my fridge. What is the brown sludge, and is it intentional, or should I fling it out my window while screaming exorcisms?

If it was on it's side it is probably just settled yeast. Drink it.

Course the last reviewer called it one of the worst beers he's ever had, so proceed with caution.

When the question is "should I drink this?" and the item in question is beer, the answer is always the same. Yes, for the love of God, yes.

Dunno about the worst ever... it's unique. Not great. Not awful.

    peanut butter porter?

in all seriousness though, that most definitely looks like yeast....that being said, that is an excessive amount for a bottle conditioned beer...since you need to pour through the neck of the bottle, chances are that beer is not going to tastes that good

    Is not great.

    ...

I'd drink the hell out of a Sixpoint Peanut Butter Porter, though.

Can't you just set it up right for a day, or so, to let it settle out?

Nice illustration of a good reason to not store bottle conditioned beers on their side.

Exorcism doesn't work anyhow. I second the "find a guinea pig that ain't you" suggestion above. @mudbug

I wish I could, but the cap is off, the beer is drunk, and the cat's in the cradle... or something.
