You are totally missing my point. It's not whether I post in a single thread that matters. It's the fact that we all post, on multiple threads that drives the hyperbole machine. The only thing I can do about it, is to not add fuel to the fire. I can't start the fire, but I can choose to not throw another log on it.

Well look at it this way:

    BCBS = amazing

    Hyped beer = incredible

    Rare beer = beyond words

So if we hype up a rare beer like BCBS it would turn it into an amazing incredible beer that is beyond words.

    Its brilliant!

Nah, actually, I do get it.

I just disagree with the cumulative effect that would result from your... one... single... post.

I mean, if 'beertunes' carried weight or influence yeah, maybe. But random beertunes guy posting in this thread...

Nope. Might influence a handful of people to go buy BA Rasputin or whatever accessible beer you think is the bees knees.

    That's all.

Why are people so aggressively defending Bourbon County? This is a discussion board about beer and people are going to chime in with their thoughts on the beers being discussed. Folks inserting any negative comments about bourbon county, goose island or inbev in general are being pounced on. I made a comment about people waiting in line for it and me post got deleted (which means someone had to report it, which I can't help but laugh at). Bourbon County fans and Inbev apologists, by all means have fun with your thread, but is there no room for a different perspective on an internet message board? Bizarre.

It almost makes too much sense since this is a big trend right now. For some reason I was thinking they'd go against that grain and do their own thing. We shall see!

personally, with whisky beers in general, I like to have them super cold, and don't like the whole warming thing. I let it get warm enough to expose itself for the beast it really is. But letting those type of beers get to room temp is something that's A- too difficult for me, and B- unenjoyable. Not a stout, but something relatively easy for me to get is Framing Hammer by Jacks Abby (baltic porter they barrel age and add all these type of variations to). I don't enjoy it at room temp. maybe I'm doing beer wrong. but whatever.

BA has marketing ties to ABInBev. maybe there's some tories amongst us.

I'm thinking either a Mexican chocolate variant (seems to be a trend), or something maple inspired. My money is on the earlier though. Oh, and I find it funny to read all these comments on here.

I'll guess a chocolate/spiced version. That or maple. I honestly thing that the supply of fruit that goes well with the base beer has been exhausted. Blueberries or strawberries would be odd in my opinion, so going with a Chicago chocolate maker or spicing it makes sense.

And the comment about rum/other barrel aging it I think is a long shot. It's "Bourbon" county, and outside of using rye barrels, I don't think they will depart from it.

Bourbon County is released on Black Friday so nobody is leaving Thanksgiving dinner to get in line for this beer. For Christ sake since the InBev purchase this beer has been easier to get your hands on so I don't know what you are talking about as far as people going from getting a case a few years ago to a few bottles now. Last year I purchased a case from a local distributer and if I wanted to I could have purchased a lot more than that if I went around to other stores. At least for me, every year has been easier and easier to get my hands on Bourbon County.

I don't know what your problem is. This thread was started to talk about what the possible variants may be so I don't know why someone that wasn't a fan of this beer would come in here and start talking about how the beer is hyped other than just to troll. People obviously get excited about this beer and enjoy talking about it. Does it contribute to the hype? Maybe. But what is this a big deal for you? Based on all your comments you just seem like you have been burnt in the past and missed out on this beer so now you are all butthurt about it. Well stop being a baby about it and sulk to yourself. This thread wasn't about how this beer is hyped. It's about a discussion on what the variants may be. Go troll somewhere else please.

Oh and I love how you can't even name ONE equivalent to Bourbon County. You have chose to ignore that question at least four times already. Again, you are just trolling. Enjoy your locals

Because the topic is a discussion on possible variants to Bourbon County NOT about why some troll thinks it's hyped, overrated, or whining about how long you have to wait in line.

If ABInBev knows damn well the profitability of this product, I don't understand why they don't just dump a shitboat more funding into the standard, the variants, the barley wine, the proprietors and the "rare" stuff. that way it is available even more. it could still be "seasonal". but just be available over a larger footprint, in larger quantities, and last longer through the year.

A Chocolate/cacao, coffee, and chile mix. BOMB! knock-off. Or mayhaps a chocolate, cinnamon (Spice House or Penzey's sourcing), maybe even throw in some nutmeg. A sort of holiday blend. Who knows. I just know I'm not looking forward to hunting/racing to get A bottle.

The beer wasn't even available in my state until after the Inbev buyout. Were I interested in getting some, it would be easy enough for me to do. At least one person in this thread has admitted to leaving Thanksgiving to get in line. Read the thread, and there are posts saying the beer is harder to get even though more is produced. Never said I wasn't a fan of the beer, actually stated several times that I like it. Not trolling, just throwing my thoughts on the topic in. Good job trying to think for me though, maybe try again when you could be correct.
