They have no plans to bottle their IPAs and have been fairly vocal about that.

As far as the bottling line itself (intended for sours), there are plenty of rumors but a dearth of hard information directly from the brewery.

I see nothing as linear, but I'd love to hear who you think is making consistently better IPAs at this moment than Societe.

It's not weird that consumers want to know where their beer was made. It is weird that Green Flash is working so hard hard to keep that information away from them. Reminds my of some other breweries...

All of you have an opinion and you also have your $. For your opinions you can reach out at [email protected] and I guarantee you your opinion will be sent to the appropriate person. For your $ if you feel the beer "sucks" "has been ruined" or "is fucking garbage", which are direct quotes from this thread, then spend it somewhere else. And to those of you talking shit to Bobby, just stop already. He is one of the most passionate, honest, and nicest people you will ever meet and I am lucky to call him my friend. Champagne wishes and caviar dreams to you all.

Or that "PR moves" have any factor in what IPA is good and what IPA is not.

Honest to goodness, I did not see "IPA" in your original post. Are you sure you didn't go add that back? LOL

I'm personally surprised that Green Flash/Alpine allows their employees to come on to BA to tell people to not buy their beer. Personally, I never said the GF brewed stuff was "crap", but now looking at what their employees are saying, maybe I will no longer be buying Alpine or GF out of principle. And to say BA has no impact on their sales is false, just take a look at Cellar 3 Silva Stout still sitting on shelves due to 3 BA'rs claiming it was a butter bomb.

Are you the Green Flash social media guy? "Spend your money somewhere else" is an odd response from a Green Flash employee. This is the sort of response I'd expect from a small brewery, but not from a brewery the size of Green Flash.

Picking out the bottom of the barrel quotes in a thread full of nice, respectful, and calm/rational responses... I'm guessing you're a "IPA beer glass is half empty" kind of guy?

You should be careful - he has access to a lot of barrels.

Their brewery livecam shows a snazzy new board, but the top half is cut off from view. There are some curious black squares covering two of the bottom lines--imminent releases?

IIRC, looks bottle prices are up by 50 cents and bottles are available for previously unbottled stuff like Hoppy Birthday. Interesting.

Those might be 1/2 growler prices; they just started doing 32 ouncers.

I was thinking along the lines of the craft vs. crafty. It is borderline BMC tactics.

The worst part of all this though is they are leaving the people at Alpine holding the bag on it. Bobby is right; it is the deadest horse that has ever been beaten. I still like my odds to enjoy my growler of Nelson, so I still get them filled. Sometimes it tastes better than others, but I always still enjoy it for what it is. Good beer. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

All that said, I still think Green Flash should own up to their product. They should be proud enough of what they do to put their name on the growler board when the beer was brewed by them. If brewery doesn't want to put it's name on it's product that isn't usually a good sign.

I'm sure they'll fix it, but right now it's kind of a perfect metaphor for everything Alpine: a little wonky, secretive, and generally unhelpful. And I still love them--sigh.

I am more of a "thats a glass" kind of guy. Sometimes full, sometimes empty, sometimes dirty, sometimes clean.
