So, it's looking like I'm gonna be flying to see family in Jamestown New York in a month or so. Just wondering where I should go visit. I know I'll be headed to Southern Tier, as it's about 20 minutes from where I'm staying. Any suggestions? I'll have nothing but free time, so I figure I can drive a reasonable distance for some good brews. Bottle shops, pubs, etc.... Help me explore!

Jamestown is a wasteland in so many regards. I have family there and used to go all the time. Terrible area

With that said, definitely go to Southern Tier.

If you're willing to drive, Voodooo brewing in Meadville is about an hour and a half is well worth the drive. Lavery Brewing in Erie isn't bad either and is closer.

I agree on this. You could hit up Ellicottville brewing not too far away. It's not great, but it is a brewery. Jamestown is a little behind the times.

I was just in Jamestown this past weekend, and I have been there the past 3 years to visit family as well. As stated above, it is pretty much a wasteland, but southern tier is very nice . Also, there's a craft beer bar called Brazil that is worth checking out. 18 drafts, all craft, and lots of bottles. The bottles are also available to purchase to go at a discount. They do growler fills too. As for stores, I think all that's really there is the wegmans, which has a decent selection depending on your state's distro.

For food, I highly recommend the scallion bistro in Lakewood. Pricey, but excellent food. Sit at the bar as the bartenders are very friendly and cool. Last weekend they had 5 or 6 southern tier brews on tap, including Local Sour, which wasn't available at the brewery. It was damn good too (don't get any syrup added).

I haven't been to the nearby PA breweries mentioned, but I love dulachan from Lavery.

Southern Tier and Ellicotville are going to be your closest breweries. Lots of wineries in the area.
Five and Twenty is a distillery/brewery/winery that opened recently.
Voodoo and Lavery are a must.
Buffalo has some decent bottle shops, Premier Gourmet, Village Beer Merchant. The Blue Monk has great food and a nice beer selection if your looking for a bite and a brew.

Forgot about Ellicotville brewing. Good call. Place doesn't make the best beer but I thoroughly enjoy it there.
