What are the odds of Todd showing up in St Cloud tomorrow? Is this one big statewide drop?

7/21 canning date - carb and head look great, although I may have been a little over-excited during the pour. Nose and taste are spot on IMO. Very pleased so far

Anyone else noticing the color difference between can and tap? The ones I've had on tap (including at Surly) were a really pale golden color and the cans are looking more orange-ish. I'm on my phone now at work but can post pics later when I get more time perhaps.

I had noticed that as well. Of course, lighting plays a role, but I definitely see a difference.

Even to the naked eye though, it was the first thing I noticed. Wonder why it's so different in terms of appearance. It's a small detail but I really admired that pale golden color from the tap. Very beautiful.

Maybe non-pasteurized kegs vs pasteurized cans? Complete guess

I don't think it is fair at all to compare those two pictures. The lighting is far too different to obtain any sort of information from it.

The color is completely different but the taste is the same. I had one can last night, 7/21 and thought it was a little under carbonated...looked exactly like what someone else posted earlier. The taste is there so I don't care that much....just curious that surly continues to have carbonation issues.

I believe this was brewed and canned in Brooklyn Center where the original "carbonation issues" with Abrasive were issues with the new brewery and canning equipment.

    Surly doesn't pasteurize.

I understand - that's why I said "of course, lighting plays a role" but it's hard to deny the color differences. I assure you, they are different. Canned version is darker. I personally don't care - carb, nose and taste are all spot on, so I couldn't be more pleased.

I wish I had any clue when the Chicagoland area was going to start seeing these cans...

We didn't even really know till a few days before, and its probably an even larger guessing game for Chicagoland distro.

I wish I knew who handles the distribution for Surly here. Id inquire more in the Chicagoland area forum but all anyone around here seems to care about is Three Floyds or Pipeworks lol.

If you want to try and contact them I think Windy City Distribution is who handles their beer.
