Just a cool story I wanted to share.

So my boss has a place in Vermont and was on vacation last week. He emails me and asks me to do something for him - really a very simple request that's part of my job anyway. I take care of it and he replies back "Thanks a bunch - in return, I have a 4-pack of heady topper for you" - friggen awesome!

So I had previously told him to keep an eye out for HT any time he is in VT, and he happened to be driving by the brewery. This was Wednesday, and since they can on Monday, he called ahead to see if they had any left. They told him they were pretty much out, but got them to agree to save a 4-pack for him. So he drives the hour to get there, but when he gets there is told they are sold out. He reminds them that they agreed to save some, and they go into the back to check. While waiting, another customer who must have overheard walks up and says "Hey man, you drove an hour to get some? Would really suck if you went home empty handed, so I'll give you one of my 4-packs." My boss assumed the guy was a local who could get it whenever he wanted, but it turns out the guy was from Seattle, and was STILL cool enough to share. My boss politely declined, they found the 4-pack in the back (plus one extra can for my boss to try himself), and everyone goes home happy.

So a big thanks to my boss for his generosity, a big thanks to the staff for being cool, and a big thanks to the unknown BA who was willing to share his limited supply. Can't wait till Thursday when I get it.

I'm secretly hoping that the guy from Seattle is on BA. Would be cool.

Nice story. I especially like the fact that they guy from Seattle was willing to share. It goes to show what a great bunch of people craft beer fans can be.

Hey guy from Seattle, if you're on this site somewhere, make yourself known so we can all tip a glass to you this evening on the Late Nite Beer Advocate thread.
