Heisenberg drinks Fat Tire, so that's good enough for me.

    *ahem* De Garde *cough*

That's exactly how I feel about their beers. Regular/Imperial Bu(s) I've had are pretty much lacto and fruit. Delicious fruit, to be sure. But there is little-to-no complexity in many of their beers.

FWIW, Oro Negro is being released today. Obviously not PGH/Western PA, but I know a few of you make it out to VE once in awhile. Wouldn't be surprised if a few bottles of this makes it there. If anyone goes out to the brewery and doesn't want a full allotment, let me know.

Just curious if that was one of Stone's misses in bombers that you mentioned. I love that beer and was just curious. That's all.

    ISO so hard.

Which gives me an idea as I'm typing this. Anyone want to do a chili stout share/tasting? Oro, Abraxas, GNVP, Mexican Cake, etc. I can bring a Huna.

One year I had it, it was pretty good...but the more recent bottle I had was a little more meh...

But overall I was referring maybe more to their non-hoppy experiments? That lo-fi/hi-fi thing was garbage...so was that pale stout or whatever that was...

Nonetheless, I keep buying them cause they're cheap and they occasionally have a hit (Xocoveza).

Just an FYI, it says Oro will hit distro next week which, in all likelihood, means VE will get some. 1 hour drive beats the hell out of a 4 hour drive to Athens. I will be watching their FB page very close in the next few days.

Been meaning to make the trek out there anyway and with work being a bit slow, next week seems like a perfect long lunch.

I got a growler of Black Strap, a handful of jalapenos, and a french press.

Don't forget a TBSP of cinnamon.

I like the "Mayan" stouts, but with a little time on them though so some of the spices can mellow out.

The Mexican thinks they're too spicy? :grimacing:

I've never had a beer I couldn't drink due to spiciness. Though the Ghost Face Killah @jeevo gave me might make me think twice.

When I was at Pizza Boy I had their jalapeno lime pale ale and could not finish it, and chili pepper stouts are one of my favorite styles. Way hotter than Habanero Sculpin.
