It's probably yeast, which I personally love the taste of in beer. (Particularly in Mikkeller George. Delicious!)

Did you at least let the bottle sit for maybe a half hour or an hour or so to see if the yeast sediment would fall back to the bottom of the beer before pouring it in a glass? This of course is something that you usually only need to let bottles sit for a minute or two for before pouring the beer when yeast sediment has been disturbed and can be seen floating around inside the bottle, but I don't think I've ever seen something in a bottle of beer quite like what is in the picture you took and posted.

Good evening sir. I have two questions for you if you don't mind. First is a chinois that cloth that they use to decant wine? And second more importantly, what the hell is that thing on your avatar?

    Drnk dat beer!

I wouldn't worry about any type of gunk in my alcoholic beverages. If it wasn't alcoholic, however, I would suspect that something like what you have pictured there was a thriving colony of bacterial organisms I would want to stay away from. And in that case, I'm sure a certain aroma would deter me. Trust your nose. It knows.

I would venture to guess that @PatrickCT avatar is a whole pig, shoulders and hams removed, whoever did that did a nice job. Looks good

Oh I do see that now. It looked like one of those prehistoric alien fish from Madagascar. Was just purely curious. Cheers!

Yyyyyyyynnnnno. Not really. Extremely over-carbonated. Not much smell to it. Not bad, necessarily, but not something I'd drink again.

I did let it sit and tried to use the beer itself to wash the yeast back out of the neck and into the liquid. You should see the glass...

You made the wrong choice by drinking this one. I was the one mentioned above who called it one of the worst IPAs I've ever had, and I stand by it. Foul.

Did yours leave mad yeast glop behind in your glass after you drank it?

I didn't notice any visible yeast issues when I drank it, but I definitely felt like the yeast character, aroma and flavor-wise, was way out-of-control.

I guess this is what I don't get about small/upstart breweries. All 3 reviews of this beer point to the fact, something was off. The picture above actually looks like the dregs from the bottom of the tank. I think at some point you have to say that something went wrong and send it to the drain. I have had bad beers from breweries before but they were usually just a little off kilter, something like this seems like it could inflict permanent damage to your name.

I have two more bottles of 5 Stones beer, both stouts - Camo and Fracking Blackstrap. Not sure what to expect, reviews for both echo the "really really over-fizzy" experience I got from Sprung, but they seem to have some upside to them. FWIW, when I get home I'll post a pic of my glass after drinking this... it's kind of horrifying to look at.

But yeah, this is not an experience that would make me seek out 5 Stones stuff. Hopefully the other 2 beers swing the pendulum the other way.

Being from Texas I have to cheer from them, but in looking at their reviews, there seems to be some consistent issues. But they are making & selling beer and I am not
