I'd be interested in getting The Alstrom's thoughts on the availability (or unavailability more accurately) of GABF tickets for the last couple of years in CO?

I've been an AHA member in the past, but I don't know that the intention is that you have to be a member anymore to go? Or without paying excessive third party prices?

Sadly I won't be taking my annual "slightly buzzed" picture with you guys. haha. I'm not paying the $130+ to get in this year after the tickets were immediatly sold out

No problems really with the AHA presale yesterday for me

I ended up getting a ticket about 30 minutes into the sale by continually re-searching for available tickets. It's not fun or fair to have to do this, but it's often necessary with hot-commodity events.

I actually had a much easier time this year. That being said, I went out there without tickets for Saturday afternoon and was amazed at how many tickets were available on Craigslist and other places. I was able to get one VERY easily for face value. There were lots available for all sessions.

I had no problem with the AHA sale yesterday. Got tickets for both Friday and Saturday. One complaint I would have if any is that a bunch of people said using the mobile app got you in with hardly any wait where the web app had longer wait times.

After the chaos from previous years I think this year went very smoothly. A quick scan of Facebook and I saw nothing but posts like "Got GABF tix for Saturday!" I didn't see a single angry post and don't know anyone that missed out that actually wanted to go.
I think they fixed the issues with ticket reseller bots hammering the site.

Smoothest year for me yet as far as the AHA presale is concerned. Zero wait and got right in for my Saturday afternoon tickets.

Wow guess I am in the minority? Maybe you guys should check the angry twitter posts... they really capture my experience. haha. You guys are all AHA members? I'm talking about the sale today. My membership expired a couple of months ago, and I hadnt planned on renewing it just so I could get a ticket to the GABF.

I might try that, but now I'm just leaning towards going to beer events around denver the same night. Will pay a lot less and there will be a lot of cool stuff going on.

How can ticketmasters issues be a direct result from the aha? Maybe you should start homebrewing instead...

It definitely seems like this year's sales were much smoother than previous years. I'm seeing a ton of positive posts. And, as others have mentioned, you can always find tickets in the secondary market now ($$$) or day of for face value; or probably less if you wait a bit after doors.

All I'm saying is, it was a shit show the last 2 years even for members-only, but it was not this year. One could easily assume the general sale would follow suit. Guess not.

First time trying to get GABF tix...was on the TM Friday session site and waited for the countdown to hit zero. Grabbed two tickets without any issues. They were sold out 2 minutes later, though!

Looking forward to hitting CO for the first time and meeting some fellow BAs!

That's a good strategy, but I would be too nervous to run into a situation where I'm either ripped off even worse, or unable to find a ticket at all. I'm sure they will be available, but I'm not much of a scalper type- I see the dudes constantly trying to sell Rockies tickets at Coors field, and they are SKETCHY. haha

There will be plenty of people on this site too that can't go for one reason or another if you are that weary of scalpers.

I've traded beers for tickets the last couple years when I've had a brother decide he's coming into town at the last minute. I haven't had any problems getting tickets at face value during the week

Going for the first time! Saturday night is really the only one I could go to because of work. I hear it's not as good as the other sessions, but eh, oh well!

Couldn't agree more! I bought tix today (no aha) -- I used the ticketmaster app and had my choice of sessions. I tested on my desktop about 5mns and still had no problem. I'm guessing user error or didn't try to buy tix until 15-20mns in. Was seamless for me. Got 4 Thursday tix. And could have bought 20 if I wanted.
