If we were lucky enough in OH to get some cases, any idea where they would be?

The description implies Pappy van Wrinkle but doesn't actually state that. Maybe the reference is just to someone's dad.

As a whiskey drinker and retailer I'm tired of the word "pappy" as well!

Over priced? Perhaps it's being sold for too much, but the pricing (been 2-3 years since I bought any) is pretty fair. 90ish for the 15, 120ish for the 20, 250 for the 23. Add in van winkle at 12 years is around 60-70 and then the two rips in the 30-40 range. Assuming you're not getting ripped off, those are very fair imo for the quality.

now I have seen some bottles at absurd prices and some bars charging 100 for a glass of the 23...also paid 9 for a half oz pour of the 23 once myself so you can be the judge on that cost...

Anything OVER 12% can't be sold in Ohio (or rather advertised at least). There is a legal 0.3% variation so something 12.3% ABV COULD be sold here, but it would have to say 12% on the label. The Bible Belt. D:

Yeah I was talking about the secondary market price as I have never seen it for sale retail, and likely never will with its now cult like status. I should've been a bit more clear about that.
You, being from KY, may have a better opportunity at getting it from your local liquor shop. Hopefully that's the case!

    Cheers

Well moved to Cincy, not so easy here. But believe it or not in KY I could get any pappy other than 15 over the years (well never seen a rye outside of a bar). Now in 2010 or 2011 I found Pappy out of season in Chicago, so honestly not sure KY is the best place to get Pappy. And trust me it's HARD to get in KY! But not sure if employees are taking it all or if UK just doesn't get as much as some big markets.

Well, I could be wrong, but I think DBJ just came and went in Georgia. Seems fairly safe to say that the total allocation was less than 10 cases and probably closer to five. No sign of Cognac Jesus yet.

Correct. Greens stores, and tower on Peidmont, and Ale yeah decatur got some. I assume a case each. I was lucky enough to grab one at ale yeah. So that is 4 cases that I know of.

Was able to get a bottle when DBJ was first released. Missed the second wave though. Not really surprised, especially when a lot of stores only got 8-12 bombers.

Went to Torst the other night and inquired and the bartender was definitely familiar with Pappy Jesus and Cognac Jesus, but said he was not sure yet when they would get it but that it was definitely coming.
