Woot stout in Grand Rapids

Yes, "here" = Philly. BCBS seems to be plentiful in NY and up that way. Very sparse in Philly and S. NJ. Made a brief appearance around Black Friday but then was never to be seen again...and even on Black Friday, it was crazy trying to find more than a bottle or two. Yes, High Westified was very hard to find around here too. I end up trading for the stuff I want...much easier.

 

I actually heard BCBS is hard to get in GR because the Miller distributor, not West side has the contract to distro Goose Island. Therefore, crappy allotment. Much easier to get in kazoo.

 

Nothing is easier to get in Kzoo

 

mega bev, and tiffany's reserve for "friends" so you have to be there at the right time. Drakes does reserves with FB but thats all about timing too.

 

Well, Someone on a different thread said it was relatively easy to get, I think on the Hipster vs BCBS thread. Also heard Costco got a pallet which is about as much as all of Kent County.

 

Yep, true story. Again, my neighbor in distribution (Alliance) said that their BCBS allocation has been going down every year since ABI purchased Goose. BUT....Alliance just traded Goose Island in GR for Stone in GR/Lansing and Stone/Jolly/Dragonmead in Lansing so now GI is with the ABI distributor in GR. Guessing now that GI is under the ABI umbrella we'll see lots more BCBS this year.

 

You should definitely try to get some of this. So tasty. Don't even care that it's 90 degrees out.

And they could certainly charge a fair bit more than the $9.99/bottle it went for and still not have it be a ripoff.

 

Anyone still needing this, Holiday Market in Royal Oak still has about two to three cases of W00t on their floor, as of this afternoon.

 

Wish I was going to be out that way, but it ain't happening any time soon.

We also do reserves and special orders. It blows my mind that most stores don't. We will order almost anything for you.(a deposit is required on high end stuff)

Our Bud rep is a tool. We didn't get any BC at all (in our third year being open). He says we need more GI before we get any. We have 312 pale and wheat, Sofie, Matilda(still have some 2012's), IPA, and the seasonal. I really don't see why we would need any more GI! But, IF we do get any this year I'm almost positive that it will be one case, and a one bottle limit

 

Oh and Harvest and Honkers do not sell. We had to send them back twice..Not to mention we have a shocktop/GI rack up front. So yeah.. Tool.

 

Whats the name of your store? by my guess your in wayland? and from my understanding talking with other owners i think its not how much you carry but how much you sell. the more GI you sell the better your odds are of getting some and then building that up. just my 2cents. and i could be totally wrong

 

w00t was out of stock :/ so I guess it's all bought up. As for GI, we sell a decent amout, but nothing worth a while. We have many other breweries that sell far more often, not including Michigan breweries(which dominate). The thing that kills us is that for one, we're new.. For two, we have a Walmart, a Meijer, three local "bottle shops" or "liquor stores", and two Hardings markets all within a six to ten mile radius to compete with.. Along with being in between GR and Kzoo.. We're slowly building, and have the best craft section in town(Otsego/Plainwell area. Just off of the highway) but were still having trouble getting the really rare shit.. And it's annoying. We are really close with our Imperial Bev. Rep tho, which brings most of the good shit in (Founders, Green Bush, Shorts, Stone, Great Lakes, Southern Tier, to name a couple, excluding the macros) it's a work in progress.. But if you want it (liquor, cigars, beer, fucking chips) and we can get it? We will.

 

I just heard from my beer guy that another distribution of w00t is hitting a few stores in SE MI next week. Be on the lookout again!
