Something else to consider when going downtown Friday night: there's a Live On King St show, which always bring a lot of people to that block, so be sure to allow time for parking/patience if you hit up Madison's/Argus/Tipsy Cow

The question was "Will Short's have a Friday event" not "Will Short's be at the Brickhouse." Too bad they won't be, they really added with their eclectic lineup.

I stay at the Hyatt Place every year. It's walking distance to just about everything on/around the square, has a good free breakfast and comfy beds. Staff is super cool too. Last year we had an after party in the pool and they (surprisingly) let us bring beer. I don't imagine that'll continue cuz glass in a pool area is a wicked bad idea.

The only real issue is that every year the price has literally gone up $20/night.

Apparently they wouldn't love to share it all that much, with that scheme. Color me nonplussed.

If you want it, skip New Glarus on Friday.

    Easily solved.

As much as it would seem like a bad idea to have it the same time as New Glarus, I think it's a great idea to get it to those that really want it and those that aren't typically willing to wade through neckbeards to try it. Plus it's probably much less stress for Dexters.

They've also extended their day.. and possibly made lunch a bit less slammed.

I remember the first year they did it in 2012 the place was literally dead for lunch. A little busier in 2013. And crazy in 2014.

Are you implying that there won't be hoards of neckbeards out at 9 am to get this beer? They will be at Dexter's on Friday morning and they will all be at NG on Saturday morning. That Saturday NG release is going to be crazy.

They will be split. Plus, some won't be in town yet. It also relegates all the craziness to one timepoint instead of two while still allowing them to tap the kegs at different times.

Then go to New Glarus on Thursday or Friday instead.

Skip Dexters until later on if a line in the morning is something you want to avoid.

If getting SR-71 is THAT important to you, get in line at Dexter's on Friday morning instead.

No Friday Short's event unfortunately, but they will be pouring at Great Taste:

Yeah, I assime because its the last keg ever and it comes with a glass. Limit 4pp is kind of odd, since I assume it's $20 every time and you end up with 4 glasses. Kind of stupid if you ask me

    Wow – $4/oz. Keepsake shmeepsake.

Between this and the apparent $30 price tag on the new MD release, my enthusiasm for TG is waning.

That's a fucking joke, plain and simple. Wonder if that's Dexter's doing or TG's charging for this "keg".

4 tickets per person seems a little odd. I can just see a group of 4 buddies buying 16 tickets and then trying to trade/sell them over the course of the day. Not to mention $20 for 5 oz

I fear this is exactly what will happen. The ticket plan/price is dumb as balls. I drove to the brewery for this release and happily paid $60 for 2 bombers, because this beer is worth that to me, but come on.

There is going to be such a grand abundance of great beer to drink next Friday that I'm a little dumbfounded at the anger related to one event, especially over a Florida brewery...:astonished:

After seeing that SR-71 is $20 for 5oz pour, I don't think I'll be making it to Dexters. Also, given the 9AM tapping of Mornin' Delight...I see there being a mad dash from New Glarus.
