I'm just assuming since Enigma was 3 months and July was the third month of Berliner...

For August Im hoping for Stone Soup and best case a Thumbprint BB Kriek, but I am assuming the BB Kriek rumors are actually the BB Bramble Berry R&D beer so any new thumbprint will be just fine

Guessing Saghorn is next. Don't know if they're going to release something else at the same time.

No clue on Thumbprint. That's been surprisingly hush-hush.

Staghorn and Pumpkin Pie Lust would be good guesses for the next two seasonals

Any help here, @Vitacca ? You seem to be often in-the-know.

I hear the next thumbprint is gonna be the tears of those who get shut out on the R&D. All hearsay though.

Well Staghorn will obviously be the next seasonal, both that and Fat Squirrel were listed as "already being brewed" in the beer vote. I'm holding out (irrational) hope for Imperial Weizen as the next Thumbprint. I hope they sneak Hometown Blonde in there too. That and Staghorn made for an epic 1-2 punch last year during football season.

This would be a mistake. That beer wasn't good enough to warranting brewing two years in a row.

Any if they are going to do a dark wheat beer, I would much rather see Black Wheat.

I'm guessing the sales numbers from last year disagree. It's coming back.

Of course sales were good last year. It was new and was supposed to be a fun pumpkin beer (everyone loves pumpkin beers, amirite?). Even the name was fun!

In reality, it was a pretty blah dunkelweizen with spices added.

Not to be a dick but just because a few beer geeks dont love it and want something new all the time doesn't mean it's a mistake to release what was probably their fastest selling seasonal of last year. They're kind of in the business of making money, too.

    No shit, Sherlock.

And just to clarify, this is all my opinion, which really isn't worth shit.

But just to close the loop - I've always supported New Glarus (or any brewery) selling beer A as opposed to beer B in the interest of higher revenue. The difference here, that I take exception with (in my opinion), is that beer A and beer B are basically the same style. Pumpkin Pie Lust was not some far out pumpkin beer. It was a Dunkleweizen, with spices added. Black Wheat is a better Dunkleweizen (in my opinion).

But whatever. New Glarus has done this before. Back 40 Bock pales in comparison to Uff-Da (in my opinion). I'm guessing the margins on Back 40 are much higher.

I would have characterized Pumpkin Pie as a hefeweizen with spices added, but I agree with your sentiment. The full flavored, bigger body beers have become more scarce over the last 5+ years while the easier drinking ones have become commonplace. I understand they probably have better margins, but it's disappointing to see given a lot of the beers I first enjoyed from New Glarus are no longer in the rotation. It's been 6 years since Black Wheat was released.

Staghorn, Fat Squirrel, and a "tweaked" Pumpkin Pie Lust will round out the year. From what I've heard, there will not be another Thumbprint in 2015. That's not definitive but that's the current word on the street.

Oh sorry, just basing my statements on what you said about it being a mistake. Won't happen again!
