Just wouldn't be a proper metal thread without fans of every other subgenre hating on the one in question, would it?

That past thread about "What's with beer and metal?" is accurate. There are so many metalheads on this site. Every WBAYDN thread has people posting songs, and I swear it seems like at least one out of five is metal, and not just super mainstream stuff like Metallica and Iron Maiden, but Agalloch, Opeth, Yob, etc.; more underground stuff. It warms my heart to see.
I'm a huge metalhead myself. I just don't make it obvious by my user name or avatar.

Behemoth and Motorhead also have beers. Although I for one don't go out of my way to try heavy metal themed beers. I am a huge heavy metal fan and even do a weekly radio show playing Metal, I just never went out of my way to try any of these beers, as it seems like a lot of efforts to track them down when there are so many other beers I already like and also a lot of beers that I have yet to try. The only heavy metal themed beer I've had is Iron Maiden's Trooper Ale, in part because it is so widely available. I like that one a lot! Don't like August Burns Red though, and BTBAM is just okay.

My favorite thing to do is relax with a beer and just listen to music. Kind of ironic more than a few i listen to are considered "straight edge" in the NYHC genre which is my preference (Agnostic Front, 25 to life etc...)

Kvelertak also collaborated with Local Option for a beer they sold during one of their tours.

You have no idea how much of a fan I am of Agalloch. Glad to see that other people love them as well.

Yeah, that's just how we do. I will say that I was able to refrain from being "that guy" in this thread; I'm proud of myself because it's not uncommon to hear me say "fuck metalcore".

edit: now I'm that guy, dammit!

For a relatively new brewery, Whiskey Funeral is a solid offering!

Also, agree that more of this would be fine with me!

    The movie "The Fountain" sucks.

Actually, I love that movie. I'm just trying to figure out why you need to trash someone's taste.

I like beer and metal, but I don't really get excited about collaborations of bands and breweries. When I see one, I almost automatically assume it's not going to be an amazing beer.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had sepultura weizen. It does not sound appealing but I would want it for the bottle. I will say I'm a fan of earlier ABR like thriller seeker but my preference goes to heavier bands.
