As long as you like it! I feel sorry for that glorious belching beaver though.

Just an idea but has anyone here mixed Sierra Nevada's Torpedo IPA with their new Hop Hunter IPA?

As I noted in my recent review I that the awesome dirty/earthy/herbal/cannabis aromas of Hop Hunter would combine well with the piney/citrus/earthy/juicy fruit flavours of Torpedo.

I know that there is some sort of unspoken rule or faux pas about combining IPAs together but I'm quite tempted to explore this territory if no one else has - like some sort of beer-mixing Magellan.

The ideal mix is 2/3rds Torpedo to 1/3rd Hop Hunter. Anything else is wrong.

I don't comprehend the mixing of beers. Just seems inherently wrong....

Probably would have taken you less time to actually mix the beers than it did to start a thread about mixing the beers.

Give it a shot then report back to us. I would try, but can't get Hop Hunter.

We discussed this in the original hop Hunter thread- I found it to be too thin and dry, mixing it with Torpedo or SNPA brought it to a nice place. I'd like a Torpedo with some of the HH hop oil.

I blended an ounce of BVDL with an ounce of Cognac Coffee Dark Lord. Amazing!

Big Bad Baptist with a splash of Lindemans Framboise is pretty tasty too.

I had Rubeaus Nitro blended half and half with Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero which was delicious. The raspberry really complimented the chilies and chocolate.

Just for experimentation last night, I took the last 2oz or so in my glass of Ten Fidy, and dumped a small scoop of vanilla ice cream into my glass to try a Ten Fidy float. Not recommended, didn't taste very good at all. Save the rootbeer float for rootbeer and the Ten Fidy solo.

Lately, l've been leaving an ounce of what l just drank and adding an ounce of my next beer, no matter what it is. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not, but it is always interesting!

Faux pas? if only that where the most of it... This is a major rupture in the time space continuum, and needs to be rectified immediately. We have a team drawing the requisite 13 meter pentagram, replete with bone of chicken, wing of bat, and of eye knut. The exact formulation must be kept secret, having been taken from the book of "Witches, Wizards, And Warlocks", lest it fall into the hands of the inept and do further harm.

Nothing further need be done on your part.

Heaven and Hell. Black and Tan of 120 Minute IPA and Worldwide Stout. This needs to be shared with at least four people.

The onlyest time I ever mixed anything with beer was Evil Twin Yin & Yang together, then that one time I mixed Makers Mark bourbon with Old Rasputin

    Hey BAs!

Like it or lump it, the Black & Tan is that ubiquitous mix of pale ale & stout. As well, many many breweries enjoy packaging blended styles of beer (Off Color, Stone, Russian River/Avery). At home, has anyone had success with (read: enjoyed) mixing different beers?

We blended Cantillon Mamouche and JK Atrial Rubicite the other night. It was pretty tasty! I have also blended Cascade Blackcap Raspberry with HF Arthur recently, which was also a treat.

Best one I had was a recent one-off from Creature Comforts where they blended 12- and 18-month aged stouts with their coffee-treated rye whiskey barrel aged Reclaimed Rye amber ale. Outstanding!

Know there was a fellow at a local growler stop (Party Town) who encouraged mixing different beers together but never took the bait....always felt it was taking away from what the brewers wanted you to taste. Other than that, I recently had one of the Stone Mix Tapes (#5 I think) and it was decent, but a lot going on in the glass, almost too busy to nail much down as far as flavor thus making for a muddled experience that should of been better. Black and tans and the others with Guiness and Bodington's aside they just seem to miss the mark for me personally......also doubt I could talk the little lady into it, the purist that she is.

A local brewery serves what they call a "Power Dagger". Essentially its a black and tan with their "Powerhouse Porter" and "Dagger Falls" IPA. Really damn good, I think. I've taken to mixing them at home. Not really different, aside from using IPA instead of the typical Pilsner/Pale ale.

I recently mixed sixpoint 4 beans and forgotten boardwalk funnel cake. It was real good. Got a nice mix of vanilla and cocoa with some coffee. I'm all for the mixing and blending.
