I tried searching the threads and did not find anything related so I apologize if this is a repetitive. I am hiking Bear Mountain tomorrow and will be hitting Peekskill right after and Rushing Duck (2 breweries I have wanted to check out for a while) on my way back to Philly. I am wondering if anyone familiar with the area can give me some tips such as growler policies (I have a couple branded 32oz swing tops so hopefully they will fill), food recommendations at Peekskill Brewery (or around Peekskill), Taplist at Peekskill (Their web site was last updated on 6/8 and nothing on FB) as I am hoping to try Higher Standard, etc. Any other sound advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Cheers!
I'm pretty sure Rushing Duck fills any growler. Peekskill I think only fills screw tops? As far as the Peekskill taplist goes, your best bet is to just look on untappd.
I believe Peekskill only fills screw tops, as they have a counter pressure filler behind the bar. The only thing that fits in it is a screw top.
They will also fill straight from the tap. Its been awhile, but in the past I have had swing tops filled.
All growlers are accepted at both places. However if you want counter pressure filled you'll need screw top at peekskill. Used to love peekskill but their prices have really gotten out of control. Rushing duck is great, very underrated!
Rushing Duck was definitely the highlight. War Elephant was fantastic and another one that really stuck out was Bauli Saison….glad I got a growler of it to take home! Will definitely get back there at some point.
RD Divided by Zero is definitely underrated, did you get a chance to try it? I get onion in War Elephant unfortunately.
