Me too. DFH beer is pretty cheap at the brewpub for takeout. Both growlers and 4/6 packs. It's not a hard and fast rule.

I love Carton Milk Stout! Wish I had a growler with me last time I had it; would love to have some fresh pints of it at home. Carton is one the breweries I need to visit before I head back into school mode, in addition to Forgotten Boardwalk and Ramstein!

A lot plays into it, different business models, higher mark up at certain bottle shops, etc. but normally, breweries will try not to undercut distribution.

I haven't been to DFH in about 2yrs but they were definitely more expensive at the brewery than through distro.

Cheap growlers and 4 packs of things like Burton and Palo were cheaper than at the store.

Most breweries and wineries have a suggested retail price and sell their wares at the source for that price. The suggested price is most often on the high side so that retailers can sell for less.

I don't know what to tell you. It was cheaper at the brewery.

I paid 10 for Boat over the 4th weekend. 100% positive on the price. Odub was 13 and Dune Fruit was 16.

The retailer can charge more or less than the suggested price if he/she cares to.

I remember getting the first ANTEAD in a store in Bricktown, NJ. it was about 45 mins from the brewery. They used to distribute all their bottled stuff.

The next year it was brewery only and I stood in line for hours. Still worth it.

    As for Carton:
I like their stuff.... A LOT. It is always new and unique which is great in the overpopulated world of craft beer we have. Just had Dune fruit finally on tap and it was unique. Regular coffee was spectacular. Boat/077 are a staple in my fridge. and their draft one offs are usually quite good. I love how much Carton cans their stuff too.

Its a good time to be in NJ if you like craft beer. Kane and Carton are each spectacular in their own way, and when i see them on draft, I'm choosing them over most other stuff.

boat is and always has been $10 a 4 pack at the brewery and that includes the tax, which the retail price at those stores doesn't.

I think he's saying to update the instagram account with the full fridge pic. you can automagically share that with twitter and Facebook.

    Hey Augie-

Do you have a more or less set schedule (every other week on a certain day/two, etc?) when you drop cans to retail? The spot I normally go (Shoprite Liquors in Caldwell) seems to have stopped updated their Beer Menu's page which sucks and iI always relied on for my Carton ....I dont like "harassing" stores by calling...if you dont right now have a set schedule would you consider a tweet to your followers to let them know when you have made a delivery?

Stopped into the BuyRite in Pt. Pleasant (On Topic: scored a 4 pack of Boat) and checked the Neshaminy Creek sixpacks for stickers out of curiosity. One of their beers did have stickers - well, had stickers - they had been rubbed off so that they were no long legible but the adhesive and some of the paper still remained. I mean, it could have been an accident that all five or so sixpacks suffered  - would have been more likely if it was from the moisture in the cooler but these were on the warm shelf.
