I'm hosting an 18th St tasting next month and need some advice. I'm looking for a consensus on which of their available IPAs/IIPAs is the best. So far, I will have Galaxy Slayer, Sinister & Moon Walk. Is one of these the best or do I need to keep chasing?

    Thanks

Undercrown is amazing but I'm not sure you can find it fresh right now.

18th Street has no regular production schedule, just keep an eye on their website for what's available. Though I should say stuff doesn't last very long after bottling or canning. Their IPA and IIPA lineup you can't really go wrong with any of them. I'll second the Undercrown and my fav is split between Temporal Purgatory and Deal with the Devil. Sinister is a once a year so you are off to a great start there. Almost forgot about Jade cans and Devil in the Rye though that one has yet to be packaged.

You have 3 good choices there. I'll 2nd 77apm with Temporal Purgatory, and Deal with the Devil is my favorite of the bunch. I also really enjoyed Grapefruit Dead, Jade, and Rise of the Phoenix. But if you are not hosting your tasting until September, what you have now will be a shell of what they are meant to be as would most IPA's. 18th is kind of random as far as a schedule and if you want to do it right; drink what you have now, and sample what is fresh when the time comes around. I'm within 10 miles if you want a $4$ trade on anything.

@SoxFan is right OP, as much as it pains a lifelong Cubs fan to say. Drink what you have now and take him up on his offer. I'm a lot farther away and don't make it there as often as I'd like to. I only disagree with Grapefruit Dead but everyone's palate is different. Lake Street Express ain't a bad choice either, nice little session pale.

Like others have said, Temporal Purgatory is a good one. I'm a fan of Nubian Overlord, ED PA, moon walk, and lake street express personally.

If you check my tenure, you'll probably realize that I know how the site works. At times, it's helpful to have a little open dialog with fellow BAs.

Galaxy Slayer and Deal With the Devil are their best IMO. I LOVE Jade but that's a pale ale.

Love 18th St ipa/dipa. Temporal Purgatory & Lake St Express for session ipa are outstanding. Undercrown, Sinister & Rise of the phoenix are the stand outs for me. Why stop at ipa/iipa? Bitches Bank, Imperial Blud, & The Hunter series are some of the best stouts around. (mixing orange & vanilla is a treat)

When I stopped by in May they had Under Crown and Jade.. Both were good, but not much beyond that.

Definitely not stopping there. I've been acquiring some of the others you've mentioned to round out a list of varieties. Thanks tho.
