Did they find a buyer? I never saw anything about it getting sold.

This event is why I'll be taking an Uber back to my friend's at 9:00.

Yea, I think we're on the same page there. My comment was based on the fact that it's illegal.

Uh...how is it illegal to have people volunteer?

With very, very few exceptions, it is illegal for anyone to volunteer for a for-profit venture. Generally, volunteering is allowed only for the government and non-profit organizations. Unless I am mistaken, SP is neither.

My original comment was made more in jest than anything else, though. This sorta stuff happens all the time. And I wasn't trying to say anything bad about SP. I hope it didn't come across that way. By all accounts on here, SP is a family of great people that makes great beer.

Edit: I really don't want to hijack an otherwise useful thread. Suffice it to say that my initial comment was irrelevant, and I never should have said anything. Back to talking about BEER!!

NG release or Dexter's will be a tough call.

GTMW folks posted on Twitter saying (to paraphrase) that the decision to not publish tap times was to try and get back to the roots of the event and encourage people to go find hidden gems instead of chasing whales all day.

Love the attempt and love the sentiment behind it. Unfortunately, that is incredible wishful thinking.

On the bright side, the walezbro ticker sentiment leads to there being virtually no lines for a lot of fantastic and less widely known breweries, which has always been one of the most fun parts of this event.

Well I'm hoping to do both. As long as I'm at NG by 8:00 or so, I figure I'll be in my car headed back home to drop off my wife by 9:10. Should be home by 9:35 and at Dexter's by 10:00. If I don't get MD or a ticket for SR-71, so be it, but I'd like to think that at least MD shouldn't be a problem.

Complete agreement on all points - definitely applaud GTMW for not being an enabler

    False.

Always been a walk around/figure out times for tappings sort of affair.

Perhaps a couple more recent fests listed more times than in the past.

You can't get them all. Sounds like the folks behind the fest finally wanted to make a better point of that going forward. Good for them.

    False.

I had all the times I wanted and needed from the program before I stepped foot in the taste last year

I didn't go to a booth to search for a time

I would really like to try SR-71, so I may have to pass on NG. Not sure what Dexter's will be like, but I plan on getting there early to get a ticket.

I can't imagine you will have to line up early for a ticket...the price will detour some people

I'm glad you had all the times you needed.

But all the times weren't there. And in the past there were even less times available in the program.

    So again, false.

Your original statement was falsely termed as being false. This statement is not not right. Thank you for the non-incorrect clarification.
